Best Breast cancer Surgeon
Dr. Karin was my surgeon and performed a lumpectomy on me a year ago. It was very successful and I can’t even see the scar. After the surgery I had hardly any pain and no complications. I have a pacemaker on that same side and no issues with that as well. Dr. Karin is very kind and explains everything very well. I would recommend her to anyone.

Knowledgeable and Kind
Dr. Karin is so kind and genuinely cares for you as her patient. I am a Registered Nurse, who became a patient and Dr. Karin made me feel at ease. I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Breast Cancer in March of 2022 in my early 40’s. I was referred to Dr. Karin by two of my physicians. Dr. Karin made sure to answer any questions I had and explained the options and procedures thoroughly. Surgery is one of the toughest parts when going through breast cancer. Having to decide which option is best can be overwhelming. My surgery went very well with no hiccups and my recovery was smooth as well. From the first appointment, to follow ups, to new scares, she has walked me through each of my appointments with gentleness. With her knowledge of breast cancer and surgery options I felt informed. I would recommend her to anyone I know and will see her again if need be.

Male Breast Cancer
Dr. Karin’s cordial confidence and compassion has made my cancer experience a positive one. As a male breast cancer patient I have found that Dr. Karin’s team, whether it be social workers, oncologists or geneticists, to be very professional and kind. I chose to have a radical mastectomy and am now almost 5 years recovered and am in great health. The geneticists found that I have BRCA 2 with subsequent testing it was discovered that two members of my extended family had breast cancer and were successfully treated. I am forever grateful to Dr. Karin and hope that other males do not dismiss or ignore the possibility that breast cancer can affect them.

Dr Karin is just an amazing and talented person, never mind phenomenal surgeon. You can just tell when she walks into the room and this explains why when I have been at other Dr’s offices and they ask me who my onco surgeon is and I say, “Dr Karin”, their eyes light up with a smile and say “Dr Karin is an excellent surgeon.” I’m happy to say that things turned out better than I had expected. When I was first diagnosed with breast cancer, I was not educated in the matter and was terrified and unaware of Stanford’s coordinated care approach, and with regard to my double mastectomy surgery and breast reconstruction. In short this is very doable. In my case Dr Karin (and Dr Momeni) and all of the incredible assistants and support staff gave me the best care and the most comprehensive and coordinated care imaginable. My concerns with COVID during 2020 relaxed with the clinic's precautions and safe practices such as patient screening, PPE, disinfecting, general hygiene and cleanliness.

In 2019 I was referred to Dr. Mardi Karin when I detected a lump in my breast. I was terrified and the news was difficult to accept. I have stage 3 breast cancer. Dr. Karin was exactly the surgeon I needed. She was compassionate, patient, and an excellent listener. Along with her colleague Dr. Labban, my oncologist, and all the capable doctors and nurses at Stanford Southbay Cancer Center, I have successfully gone through chemo, surgery, and radiology over the past 16 months. Dr. Karin helped me face each step of my treatment with confidence and the assurance I was in the right place with the best treatment. There were many very difficult days with each new therapy. She understood how much I needed to know and when it was more then I could process. She answered all my questions in person and over email in a timely and helpful fashion. Without hesitation I would recommend Dr. Karin and Dr. Labban to anyone facing a diagnosis of breast cancer. You could not be in better hands.

I was referred to Dr. Karin by my Oncologist at Stanford after being diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. Dr. Karin was kind and compassionate from day 1. She collaborated with Dr. Momeni, a plastic surgeon to do a breast reduction at the same time as she did my partial mastectomy- a level of care that I would have NEVER gotten in my home town of Visalia, CA. The results are amazing! As I just went in for my 3 month follow up, I am overwhelmed with gratitude. If it were not for her willingness and ability to collaborate with Dr. Momeni, I would be looking at going under for a second surgery rather than moving forward with radiation treatments at this time. Dr. Karin and her staff are absolutely wonderful-compassionate, caring and very professional. She knows her stuff and I would HIGHLY recommend her!

Dr. Karin is an excellent surgeon, and additionally shows authentic, sincere compassion in her interactions. She performed my partial mastectomy in 2019 at Stanford South Bay Cancer Center, with quite a successful outcome. Her surgical expertise and caring for my health and well-being, helped me to come through my breast cancer very smoothly. Her follow-up with me in the past year has also been extremely thorough and supportive. Thank you, Dr. Karin!

I was seeing Dr. Karin for some breast issues and because breast cancer runs in my family she recommended having genetic testing and I came back positive for BRCA 2. I decided to have the preventative mastectomy done. Dr. Karin and her team have been so supportive, caring and kind. I’m 6 weeks post op and doing well. Thank you Dr. Karin.

Dr Karin is an excellent doctor who truly cares about her patients. She clearly explained all my options and what to expect. I was told by friends that the injection of the radioactive substance to locate the lymph nodes before surgery was the worst part of the entire surgery. Dr Karin personally did this injection. She talked me through the process and had me breathe through it. I have to say it was not painful and was over with very quickly. She is amazing!

I was referred to Dr. Karin after being diagnosed with lobular carcinoma in March 2016. Needless to say, I walked in terrified. I can't say enough good things about the treatment I received from Dr. Karin and her staff at Stanford Cancer Center Southbay. Over the last year and a half, I have been treated with kindness, compassion and honesty. She performed my mastectomy and worked with Dr Nazareli, the plastic surgeon, and referred me to my oncologist. It's SO helpful that it's all in one place!
