Disappointing
I saw Dr. Castro twice for ulnar neuropathy. It took quite a while to get an appointment, and when I got to see him, the only benefit I derived was an order for physical therapy. I had read all of the bad reviews but needed to see someone as I had lost use of my right arm suddenly. On both visits, Dr. Castro was dismissive of my questions and appeared to want to end the appointment as soon as he could. The second visit was a follow up after a lengthy specialized MRI on my elbow. However, he never really explained what the MRI results were despite my questions. He did not suggest any follow up visits. I felt as if he couldn’t care less about my condition or recovery - which he said might not happen while shrugging his shoulders. Not very comforting to say the very least. I would suggest that anyone needing a neurologist contact someone else.

Excellent bedside manner, attentive, knowledgeable
I have to say that I was very reassured during my visit with Dr. Castro. He was attentive, thoughtful in his explanations, listened to my concerns, and addressed my worries. I was seeing him for a sudden onset of extreme and debilitating nerve pain in my arm and hand from an improperly inserted IV that hit my median nerve (which happened at a local ER, not his office). He saw me within 3 days of my call to the practice, and although I thought I wanted to see one of the other doctors that I had read a bunch of good reviews on, he was able to see me very quickly and I jumped at the chance. I am so glad I did. I am surprised by some of the reviews on here, as he gave me plenty of time, went through a bunch of tests to check my nerve function, asked me if i had any other issues to report (which I did), and was very friendly and kind. I am looking forward to my follow up appointment and feel so relieved to have gone to him. I really appreciated his demeanor and I thought he was one of the b

I read through this reviews before booking an appointment with Dr. Castro and yes, many of these comments are true - Dr. Castro is not going to sit and listen to your anxieties and fears about your possible diagnosis. He WILL, however, bring 20+ years of pattern recognition to the room, 20+ years of experience in managing Neuro patients and he will get the job done! I appreciate this isn't what every patient needs, but it worked well for me. He's a good, solid physician. I'd go back any day. Also the reason why imaging facilities in the area won't take his orders (I clarified with the facilities I called) is because he has relatives that work there and it's a frank conflict of financial interest. By law they cannot accept his orders for MRI or CT. It has nothing to do with his skill as a physician, which is considerable.

I had an appointment with Dr. Castro on Friday, December 11 at 1 pm. When I made the appointment I was told to fill out their on line registration, which I did and to show up 30 minutes early. I left my house at noon planning to be there 30 minutes early but it unexpectedly took an hour to get there. I arrived at 1 and was told the doctor would not see me because I did not arrive 30 minutes early. I asked to speak with whomever was in charge. I was referred to the practice manager. I asked her what would I be doing while I waited 30 minutes to see the doctor since I had already registered on line? Why did I need to be 30 minutes early? I was told sometimes there is a crowd and they need time to check people in. I pointed out there was no crowd today and asked do they ever have an exception to the rule policy? No. I left wondering what the doctor was doing during my scheduled appointment time. I was very upset. Felt the need to report this. Shared with my insurance company also.

Dr. Castro is amazing. For my first couple of visits, I thought he was aloof, but once we got to know each other, he's funny and engaging. He is professional and thorough in addressing the issues I report on the form, as well as issues related to what I report and issues he observes. I always feel heard. He works with me for pain management for my neuropathy and migraines to minimize the impact on my life and work. I love that he takes a holistic approach in suggesting meditation, yoga, and doable exercises, as well as nutritional supplements. I also like that he's a team player with my other doctors. The office management could be better, but his staff has always been friendly and professional with me. I'm giving him 5 stars for his professional services because the office management is not under his purview. Thanks Dr. Castro for listening to me and helping so much over the years!

To Whom It May Concern: I wasn't even able to get past the appointment process unfortunately with this doctor. I had very high aspirations, despite his very poor reviews. What happened is that the office will ask prospective patients to provide documentation in their software portal. The doctor uses a very inexpensive medical record provider, called ProviderFlow (a 25 person company). Prospective patients will spend nearly an hour completing these forms. Unfortunately, even after saving these forms, none are stored! I was surprised to even find a prior patients information stored under the drivers license/personal information section. When it was time for my appointment, the nurse didn't seem too concerned, and after a call back from another nurse, there was slight concern, expressed as an offer for an IT assist. Overall, this experience was very poor. Dr. Castro is playing with people's lives, and is perhaps too ignorant to realize it based on what little I (unfortunately) was exp

I came to him with significant neuro symptoms after a viral illness and I was completely dismissed and left to suffer in severe pain (among other symptoms) for many weeks. The work up down was fine, but bedside manner and ability to listen and consider a rare diagnosis as a possibility is lacking. Have since been seen by another neurologist at a different practice- was treated with kindness and compassion and accurately diagnosed.

If I could give him 0 stars, I would. This is a long overdue review. He was the worst doctor I have ever seen. He was the first neurologist I saw years ago after my symptoms began and it was an awful experience. My husband and I both left the appointment upset with how unprofessional and arrogant he was. He acted like he knew everything, but missed my diagnosis. I asked if my symptoms could be related to my cycle and he said "Woman always blame their problems on their hormones." Then later when trying to describe how my symptoms were impacting my ability to care for my children, he interrupted me and said "You don't even know what some of my patients go through. Some are hospitalized, some are blind for days..." Honestly, he has no business working in patient care. I feel sorry for anyone that gets "assigned" to him in the practice. On a side note, I requested to switch to a different neurologist and the practice wouldn't let me. I guess they have too many people trying to switch away

There are many issues with the office and the doctor. The office as a whole lacks compassion and warmth. They adhere to strict rules such as paying for Rx Refills done outside of an appointment, or not posting test results without a written request from Patient. Then for the Doctor, there is zero bedside manner. He does not listen and does not take the time to look in-depth as possible causes, etc. I had difficulty getting portal access as well as getting test results that I paid for. Go see someone who actually will try.

Dr. Castro is pleasant enough; however, I prefer someone who is a bit more aggressive and cutting edge in addressing issues. My main concern is regarding their office administrative practices. They scheduled an appt for me months ahead and the week of the appointment I was called to re-schedule because Dr. Castro doesn't work on the day I was scheduled. Then they wouldn't reschedule my appointment because I didn't have access to my new insurance info at that moment. Patient unfriendly practices

I arrived for my first appointment ten minutes early and waited an hour and a half to be seen. Dr. Castro seems like a nice and competent doctor. Then I missed my next appointment. My daughter had written all over my calendar and I didn't see the appointment. I called but they charged me $75 for a missed appointment. I think that's pretty steep. Then I cancelled my next appointment. They didn't cancel it! I called to cancel it again and they refused to give me written confirmation of the cance
