I will keep this short and sweet....Dr. Blaya is a phenomenal Oncologist!!! He saved my life! I am truly blessed!! I will never ever reject a hug!!!!!!!

I was his patient for years before 2020 when move out from the state for two years. I moved back on May and I need to do my yearly check up. I called the office twice. They would not give me an appointment or even call back because I do not have insurance at the moment. I am in between insurance but I said I would pay the consultation privately this time. I found this situation really disappointing. Makes him and his office manager look bad. I never had any situation with them before and I was happy with them, that is why I contacted his consultation when back to FL. I am frustrated and I am surprised with callous attitude after I was a patient for soo long.

At 50 years of age, I am a veteran breast cancer survivor who has been dealing with this disease since I was 27. So trust that with 3 breast cancer dx under my belt I have experienced the best and worst of doctors. Eleven years ago I was dx with stage 4. When I met Dr Blaya, he had huge shoes to fill from my previous oncologist Dr Michel Velez. He has more than filled those shoes! Not only is Dr Blaya knowledgeable and straightforward but he is also warm and kind. My favorite aspect of Dr Blaya are his bear hugs! It brings me so much comfort as visits can be extremely stressful. It is a blessing to have dr willing to demonstrate such warmth, love, care and respect when facing this enemy that’s cancer. We need more Dr Blaya’s who are not afraid to extend that extra bit of reassuring warmth to his patients!

I have nothing but good things to say about Dr. Blaya. From the minute we started our initial appointment when I was still searching for an oncologist to take care of my triple-negative breast cancer treatment, I knew he was the right person for the job. Extremely knowledgeable, professional and at the same time very warm and welcoming, Dr. Blaya always made me feel "at home", even going through something mentally exhausting as breast cancer. He and his team at Memorial really take their time to answer my questions and make sure I was comfortable with my treatment.

He may be excellent in his field and yet he should not assume all woman want his advance hug. He walks in and comes right at you to hug you before you can stop him... he should ask if I need a hug! I'd say no!

I do not feel Dr Blaya is a team player. Every patient needs to have a healthcare advocate, yet Dr Blaya seems to resent anyone ,other than the patient, asking questions. His answers to questions are abrupt and final !

Engaging personality. Quickly understands the problem and starts corrective measures. Glad he’s on my side.

He is extremely knowledgeable and knows all the latest advances in cancer care. He puts his heart and souI in taking care of his patients. I consider myself very lucky to have him as my Dr.

Dr Blaya has been a rock through out my treatments so far. He looked at my situation and connected me to the right team for my situation. He gives 100% undivided attention to me every time I visit and I have felt completely safe under the care of him and his amazing team. It's easy to talk about a Doctors bedside mannor being great but Dr Blaya has somethng more than that. He truly connects with his patients and reassures that you are in the best hands possible. I can't say enough!

Dr. Blaya is one of the most caring and dedicated doctors i have been associated with. He has a great bedside manner and is extremely knowledgable. He makes you feel at ease for a rather difficult appointment! I am thankful to have him as my breast ongologist!!

Dr. Blaya is a kind and compassionate doctor.My mother was having several complications due to chemo and bleeding hemorrhoids. Her onc repeatedly sent her to the ER to have blood transfusions, but ignored the source of the bleeding.Dr. Blaya stepped in and in an aggressive but caring manner informed her she needed hemorrhoidectomy. I believe he's the only doctor in this group with a heart. During her last days of life, he stopped what he was doing in the hall to show emotional support. TY
