Patient abandonment
By far the worst psychiatrist I’ve ever been to.Dr. Mathews is the most condescending doctors I’ve ever met.He has 0 empathy and has left me with no doctor, no medication and no therapy suddenly after seeing him for about 4 months. He knew I had just finished an EMDR session where I did more processing of my dads death and told me I had to quit the tincture that’s been helping my peripheral neuropathy for years or quit seeing him.Now I have no psychiatrist, therapist or a way to refill depression and anxiety medication I’ve been on for years.

Poor bedside manner
Telehealth
I found my experience with Dr. Matthews to be disappointing. Unfortunately, I felt that he was abrasive and inpatient in our conversation. He frequently interrupted me while I was trying to respond to his questions, which made it difficult for me to express myself. As a result, I did not feel heard or respected during the consultation. In my view, Dr. Matthews demonstrated a lack of empathy, and his approach felt overly brusque and patronizing. Regrettably, based on my experience, I cannot recommend him.

Exceptional care
Telehealth
I have to give him 5 stars. His direct approach is what I appreciate. This may be off putting to most because it is not what they want to hear, and he doesn’t beat around the bush. After my struggle with healthcare for 2 years this doctor is willing to see the whole picture and provide treatment. I have worked in healthcare for over 30 years and am thoroughly impressed with his knowledge and treatment plan.

Terrible. Not a pain Doctor. He doesn’t treat you as a patient with pain he doesn’t listen to your needs. He is too scared to prescribe medication that pain patients need. There are much better doctors in the area I found one. Just look. He has so many patients coming in and out like cattle. The waiting room is packed and the staff is overwhelmed. He is more concerned about making money and having as many payments coming in as possible whereas he should be more concerned about patients and helping people. Look around you will find a good pain management doctor but this is not one

He is not a pain doctor. He doesn’t manage pain nor does he take your pain seriously. He is afraid to prescribe pain medication accordingly. He will continue to let you suffer just as long as he gets paid. He will persuade you to have unnecessary procedures and then charge your insurance multiple times for the one procedure. He’s condescending and talks to you like you’re dumb. His office is unorganized. He is overbooked and rushes through appointments. He takes his time to call in prescriptions and lets you sit in pain for days or even weeks. Find someone else if you’re seeking help with pain. He won’t help you at all.

Appointment times he is always late, or reschedules. Constantly mentioning the opioid epidemic and not addressing MY individual problems and pain. Very patronizing and condescending if you try to suggest a different med or treatment plan. Does not always refill scripts on time, leaving me terrified I would be out of my pain meds, especially on weekends when you can't reach anyone.
