I had what was supposed to be a minor procedure done at the Cath lab in late February. The Care team did not tell me to stop a medication (opioid inhibitor) prescribed by my physician at Mayo. As a result, the opioid and Benzo given for conscious sedation during the procedure were completely ineffective. When I was screaming and crying in pain, the nurse told me 'If you continue to cry like that, you will bleed into your abdomen.' The nurse disconnected me from the heart monitor in recovery after pointing out that my heartbeat was highly irregular. He did not contact anyone about the irregular heartbeat and did not wait for the condition to resolve. When I expressed my concerns to Dr. Aschi, he was VERY condescending and even stated that 'Maybe I had a low pain threshold'. Additionally he stated that he does not like to counsel patient to stop medications prescribed by other physicians EVEN THOUGH standard protocols for this medication are to stop three days BEFORE any procedure

Go Here If you Like Being Herded like Cattle
When I became a new patient at this office I was hopeful. I left First Coast Cardio because I felt like they just wanted my money and I was just a number. After several months at this office, I found out they're no different. Aside from ALWAYS overbooking appts and extended wait times of 45 min to an hour AFTER my appt times, they just rush you in and out of the office with no real information. In fact, I saw my doctor ONE time in the 2 years I stayed here as a patient. I was always just seen by the NP or assistant. Today, I told them I was finding a new Doctor. I was scheduled to see the doctor for a 6 month follow up. The first time, he was running over an hour behind in seeing patients. I had to reschedule and leave. On that appt., which was today, I was scheduled at an office closer to my home and when I went to the appt, the Dr. wasn't even there! That was the final straw. So as of today, I'm looking for a new Cardiologist.

Poor customer care
I’m very disappointed in the level of customer care at Ashchi Heart & Vascular. Twice, doctor Ashchi has canceled appointments with me at the last minute. Once he just didn’t show up for a regular appointment, but the most recent was a major problem for me. I had an ablation scheduled with Dr. Ashchi several weeks in advance. I made all arrangements at my work to take vacation time and some paid time off in order to accommodate the medical procedure and recovery time. With my type of work once schedules are made, they cannot be easily changed and many times, not at all. I was called 3 weeks prior to the procedure by Dr. Ashchi’s office to tell me that I needed to be rescheduled as Dr. Ashchi had decided to take a vacation instead of work with his patients that period. I protested this as being too late for me to change my schedule at work. I had used all my vacation time for the week to do the procedure and recover. I spoke with the Practice Manager who said there was nothing that coul

I first started seeing saw Dr Ashchi in 2019. I have been so happy with Dr Ashchi and all that he does here. I had an abnormal Venous Doppler study, and had a right iliac stent this year, January 31, 2022. I came in for follow today and I feel wonderful!!! I am able to move around better. No longer completely dependent on my wheelchair, and I'm getting muscles back in my leg!! I would recommend Dr Ashchi and his staff!!

Dr. Ashchi is hands down the best. You can expect to wait to see him, but anything worthwhile is worth waiting for. He spent a lot of time with my family and I answering our questions and reassuring us. You can tell he cares about all of his patients. He treated us like family. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. Thanks Dr. Ashchi!

If I could leave '0' stars I would! The man is an arrogant bully who was more interested in the student in the room than he was in me, the patient. I was kept waiting in a cold room for over 2 hours. Inexcusable behavior.

I thought I had found a cardiologist that I thought would listen to me. I didn’t find that in Dr Ashchi. I found him to busy and with too many patient to be able to know his patient. It seemed that he didn’t take the time to read up on his patient before they came into the office, nor did he pay attention to what you were saying to him in how you are feeling and what you’re body was saying to you. I believe I know my body more than my doctor and just want to be heard.

I love these guys! Dr. Ashchi was unable to help me with my problem but he was extremely kind and compassionate vs one well know vein-specialist that told me he wouldn't touch me with a ten-foot pole - then made it "a 20" on my follow up visit. His PA's are knowledgeable, the office staff has been quick to help me get records from another DR I'd had a heart workup with, but was but couldn't see me for 3 months afterward. Dr. A is now my "new" cardiologist, exceptional concern and lots of info
