Do not trust him with your child’s care
If I could give him 0 stars I would. I saw Dr. Abu Salih in 2021 to 2022 when I was still in peds. Everything was brushed off as anxiety or mental health. 4 years later I learn that I have gastroparesis caused by my other health conditions. So Dr. Abu-Salih, when you told me “do you think it’s something worse?” and “at least it’s not cancer” after i mentioned my connective tissue disorder (chronic) I don’t think it’s something worse than just anxiety, I know it is and I knew it was. Do better. Listen to your patients when they tell you they don’t feel well, even if things seem “fine”. I could have had an answer 5 years ago if it wasn’t for shameful doctors like you.

According to Dr. Abu-Salih, my divorce is causing my kid to choke… even though she had this problem before we separated. He let me know she has anxiety - my kid is closer to an overconfident/devious/Bond villain/joy bomb. (Shared opinion of her therapist, teacher, family) Choking was t even what we came for, we went to schedule an endoscopy to remove an object from her stomach found in a prior Upper GI. He hadn’t read any notes prior, his nurse had to go find him and send him to our room, he prescribed reflux medicine even though the Upper GI said that wasn’t the problem. Positives - His staff was lovely, office was clean and if Community would let me just switch doctors I’d stay with their network, available for endoscopy was less than two weeks, but I just don’t trust his attention to detail enough for my kiddo to go under and have a tube down her throat if he’s in charge.

Not good with kids, or adults.
Dr. Abu-Salih saw my 3-year old daughter. He showed no sympathy or compassion. He basically said she will be overweight and constipated because she is autistic. He did not take the time to learn about her rare disease, nor did he seem to care. Then, he ordered the wrong labs, so my daughter was stuck with a needle for no reason. It just seems like he’s miserable and was pressured into being a doctor for the wrong reasons. If you’re looking for a doctor to “care” for your child, I’d look elsewhere.

He listens to you and takes time with you. He has a great rapport with the kids. We feel confident with his experience and believe he cares for our kids. He carefully considers possibilities and is conservative in his approach. My kids love him every time they have gone there...and the staff is stellar too! Usually you get one or the other. This time you get both. Great dr and great staff! When you have kids with eating/tummy trouble- this is where you should go!

Our baby has been a pt of Dr. Abu-Salih for 5 mos and has only seen him in person 1X (after her EGD).He came into the rm w/out saying a word of intro and began speaking to my daugh regarding her child. She had no idea who he even was.My granddaughter sees his Nurse Prac for ofc visits, and in the event of an acute issue he sends her to the ER w/out any orders or instructs to the hosp. His med tx of her has been ineffective (to say the least) which is why we are transferring her to Riley Hosp ASAP!
