Dr Meka performed my first colonoscopy when I was 52. Went to Dr Meka 6 years later after experiencing bowel trouble and thinking I should have another colonoscopy. Since I didn't see blood in my stool she said she had no reason to give me a second colonoscopy. Things didn't improve so I went back 4 months later and she agreed to another colonoscopy. She informed me after the procedure that I most likely had a malignant tumor in my rectum. I think I made some kind of remark saying it was probably there 4 months prior. The tumor was malignant and was very close to breaking through my rectum wall and possibly becoming Stage 4. 1 year 9 months later after 25 radiation treatments, a rectal resectioning, temporary ileostomy and 16 weeks of chemo I'm finally getting my life back together. Although the cancer was by no means Dr Meka's fault, my oncologist and I are disappointed in Dr Meka's denial of a second colonoscopy. Had I not been proactive the outcome could have been much worse.

I saw Dr. Meka for general & consistent GI distress that I had been experiencing for 3-4 months. She did not listen to any of my symptoms and insisted I needed my gallbladder removed. She ordered a bunch of tests & come to find out I am passing kidneys stones. She would not see me for another 4 weeks even with knowing that information. She and the front office staff are terrible at speaking to patients on top of that.

I’ve had Crohn’s disease for 10 years now, and have been on remicade as long. When I’ve been having symptoms of a full flare and so I go see meka about it. I ask her about maybe getting a port, because my veins are so scarred. She suggests me doing an injectable instead. But when I said that I’ve seen that a lot of times humira doesn’t last and that people tend to not be able to get back on remicade because bodies build up antibodies all she could say was ‘oh’. I asked about cbd oil prescriptions or how to get one since I’m not doing well and she immediately shut me down. And she said that she wouldn’t prescribe me steroids because she ‘doesn’t want me to gain weight ‘, even though I’m losing weight unhealthily. She’s been pressuring me into bariatric surgery. And when I did an “anonymous “ review about this experience, though it might have been a little harsh because I’m rightfully freaked out about my health, she got her nurse to tell me to find another doctor.

Dr. Meka burned a hole in my colon during a colonoscopy. Had to have half of colon removed in emergency surgery.
