Dr. Madhavi Akkineni, MD

Dr Akkenini displays a great deal of medical knowledge and performs a very thorough exam. However, the management of her practice is highly dissatisfying. Patients are left waiting sometimes 60 minutes before seeing her, and the patient is taken through multiple 'stations' - blood pressure, weight, a question routine - all before the doctor will see the patient. When she does see the patient, the same questions are asked again, which becomes irritating. And if patient mentions the lengthy time he or she had to wait to see her, Dr Akkenini comes up with all kinds of excuses why waiting was necessary. She does not understand or refuses to acknowledge the frustratingly inefficient method of her office practice and its effect on patients.

Dr Akanni is a very thorough doctor. She goes to and pays attention to the diagnosis, she’s very thorough and getting everything done that needs to be done per her diagnosis. She follows up. She makes phone calls after the visit to make sure everything is fine. I’m doing well. I’ve gone to her for over five years. I would highly recommend her.

I have seen Dr. Madhavi Akkineni numerous times. The wait time is sometimes a bit longer, but she is very through and spends a lot of time with her patients. A lot more than any other Dr I have seen. She answers any and all of our questions in detail. I have never had her not prescribe any of the medicines I take\need. And as long as she is practicing here I will continue to she her. Excellent Dr. which I need with all of my issues.

I was put on hold many times and all the clerk asked for was the birth date, not what u were being seen for which seemed very strange. On appt day she took my ID, ins cards, gave me the HIPPA & privacy papers to sign, left her counter and did not return. I was not given any kind of medical questionnaire at all - very odd. After 40 minutes of waiting it appeared I was not going to be seen (no one else in waiting room!). I noticed my ID and ins cards still sitting on the clerk's counter so I took them, my completed forms and left. One of the forms was an Authorization for release of Medical Records but on the first visit?! It appeared she could be relying on other doctors' data instead of diagnosing on her own. Another reviewer stated this doctor refused to prescribe antibiotics when clearly needed and was insulting to her. Too many red flags and the new practice card they mailed out was misleading as well.
