Mom first saw Dr. Cano in 2020 during the height of the COVID 19 pandemic. Although it was a crazy time, Dr. Cano gave us a piece of calm and her office was a safe space. Dr. Cano diagnosed mom with Lewy Body Dementia (LBD). Although LBD is a degenerative disease, under Dr. Cano’s amazing care, mom has flourished. At visits Dr. Cano never rushes us. She thoroughly answers every question and is always very direct and honest, which personally appreciate. If I leave a message at her office, it is always returned and usually by Dr. Cano herself. Dr. Cano goes above and beyond normal treatment. She provides extra support and assistance to make sure mom is set up for success. From sourcing out and obtaining hard to find medication to squeezing us in for a visit and so much more; Dr. Cano is not only a professional, intelligent and skilled neurologist, but she truly wants the BEST for her patients. She fights fiercely for them. Dr. Cano connected and helped mom get enrolled in a LBD clinical trial with Dr. Gus Alva. This resulted in a vast improvement in mom’s mental and physical wellness. The medication from this trial is quite expensive and hard to find, but Dr. Cano always makes sure we have enough. I don’t know how she does it, but she is one of mom’s biggest champions. As a single mother of three and mom’s sole, full-time caregiver, I would not have survived these last four plus years without Dr. Cano’s EXCELLENT care. Because of Dr. Cano, mom has regained much of her independence and dignity and that is priceless. Thank you Dr. Cano!

Dr. said issue was Psychological
My daughter was diagnosed with POTS last year. But not by Dr. Cano. Because there was nothing showing on her MRI or lab results, Dr. Cano suggested her issues were psychological. A trip to the hospital later, the hospital doctor diagnosed my daughter with POTS. I can't tell you though the damage it did to her spirit to think for a season that it was psychological. Absolutely devastating. And had we gotten the POTS diagnosis sooner, she probably would not have gone to the hospital because her symptoms would have been treated in a more timely manner.

She’s not affiliated with Hoag hospital
Telehealth
Don’t trust a non board certified MD that lies . Call Hoag hospital to verify . She doesn’t do EMG or nerve blocks or deep brain stimulation surgery ( only neurosurgeon) . Do your research about Cano !

Initial Visit
I saw Dr. Cano today for the first time. She came highly recommended by another specialist that I see. My situation is complex and I found her to be extremely knowledgable, very helpful, and willing to interface and advocate for me with other specialists. My appointment was easy to schedule and she spent considerable time reviewing my history and making recommendations. I look forward to working with her and feel confident that I am in good hands.

I’ve never had a horrible experience with doctors until Dr. Cano. She misdiagnosed me (for two months I thought I had an incurable frightening disease.) She yells at her staff and was the rudest, crudest doctor I’ve ever met. I can’t imagine how she has any patients.

Quite possibly the most competent MD I have ever been to. She cares deeply and takes the time needed to discuss everything going on with your health. Yes. She orders tons of tests, but that is how real diagnoses are formed, hello! She follows up and refers you to specialists accordingly. I wish I could give her 10/5.

Dr. Cano is an angel on Earth! I love how she cares for her patients and takes ownership in their health. I was diagnosed with COVID in January 2021, her aggressive approach as well as her constant follow up making sure I was remaining on the mend allowed me to know she was much different than most physicians. She makes me feel like I am more than a patient with a chart. After COVID, she ordered bloodwork which detected medical issues that would have remained unseen. I am thankful for the test she orders as it provides me to the opportunity to be proactive instead of reactive. I highly recommend Dr. Cano if you want a primary care physician or would like a second option. She will get to the bottom of any health issue even if it is a mystery.

Dr. Cano is amazing! The best doctor I have ever known! I had a unique neurological disorder that resulted in my right lung being paralyzed. And this situation occurred in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. The facilities and doctors in Arizona kept cancelling my appointments as they were prioritizing only for Covid patients. I went to see her in SoCal and she immediately had me undergo an extensive diagnostic routine that ultimately identified the source of my lung paralysis. She referred me to the best vascular surgeon at UC Irvine and he performed a procedure that corrected my condition. She is a God send!! The affected lung is now beginning to function again and I am doing over 70 miles per week on foot! I owe the quality of my life to this lady. She is amazing! Very smart and passionate as a medical professional. I have never in my life had such fantastic medical care. I have referred my family members to her now. Amazing doctor!!!

Dr. Cano was helpful in writing orders so that I could have tests run, but then 2 hours before my last appointment her office called me saying that I owed her $1200 for 3 telemedicine visits. I asked why I had not received an invoice or a bill for her services and explained how her office was supposed to be filing the claims with my insurance. Then Dr. Cano got on the phone and told me that the claims were denied and that I owed her the money. I did not pay the bill because up until that moment no one had given me notice that I owed anything, and without an explanation of charges I was not going to pay. They canceled my appointment that was scheduled for later that day, because I would not pay when she demanded it. I called my insurance company and they told me they had not denied the claims and that they were waiting on Dr. Cano's office to get them all the paperwork. Also, they told me that I did not owe her any money. Very disappointing, but similar to other reviews. Beware!

Dr Cano is amazing! She saw me immediately when other doctors wanted me to wait a minimum of 3 months. She is always staying up to date with new information to best treat her patients, I am currently on Kesimpta and it has changed the management of my ms. I cannot thank Dr Cano enough go the life I get to live because of who she is and how she treats her patients. She is easy to talk to and always available to her patients. I would recommened her to anyone needing a neurologist.

DANGER!!! I am suffering from an unimaginable debilitating, chronic pain from a. unnecessary FDA non-approved highly risky cervical cortisone injection that she said has no risks. She even contacted the pain injection specialist (who was against the procedure) to do the injection. She is not a spine specialist and insisted on a procedure that has brought enormous sufferings to me and my familly. Avoid this greedy dangerously incompetent doctor . AVIOD HER.

Scatterbrain, and a bad doctor. Wanted me to do a test for carpal tunnel in her office for $300. She also ordered $500 worth of lab tests that I did not need. I went to another doctor and he did the test she wanted $300 but he charged me nothing. There is more but you get the drift. Don't go to this "doctor" if you are looking for competent medical care.

She has been trying to collect a copay that I already paid for a year now in cash at the visit. As if she would see me without a copay? DO NOT PAY IN CASH. Have to have a a paper trail with this type of doctor. I am disgusted by this type of practice.
