Amazing surgeon
Dr. Martin's office is clean, the staff is extremely nice, the waiting room is not crowded, and no long wait time. Dr. Martin listened when I told him pain medication makes me sick so he did a non narcotic surgery. I woke up feeling great not nauseated at all. I have had no pain at the incision site can't even tell I've had surgery. I was back to my normal routine the next day!! DR. Martin is the BEST surgeon I have had and he will do any other surgery that I need in the future. Thank you Dr. Martin!!!!

Office Visit
Arrived at the appointment 30 mins early as requested! Was greeted and signed in! Didn’t wait long he had one pt besides myself! Dr.Martin came in introduced himself he started discussing why I was there! He cut me off several times! He stated he couldn’t do surgery on me until I lost weight ! I tried to explain that it’s extremely hard do to several medications I take! That fell on deaf ear after that he was just short and basically rude! He definitely needs to work on his bed side manner! The visit was rushed and pointless!!!

Dr. Martin is rude and arrogant with little or no professionalism. The school he attended and graduated is one of the poorest formal educational institutions in the South or Midwest, and may even be a worse academic school than WVU, which was rejected for acceptance into the ACC due to its poor academic performance. The ACC would have accepted WVU for its competitive athletic program, which is bolstered by its poor academic credentials, which allows them to get the athletes who cannot make the grade in reputable institutions of higher learning. ECU is no better, and it also has competitive athletics because it gets academic/athletic rejects from many reputable institutions in NC, like UNC Chapel Hill, Duke, etc. The man has terrible beside manner, and has no compassion for some of his patients, and does not do his job properly. The man then has interns traipse around with him, so he can cover his jumbled tracks and produce deceptive or untruthful medical records. He rated a zero.

I was referred to Dr. Martin to have him check a "fatty tumor", which Dr. Martin said was a Lipoma. He explained to my husband and I what it was and that they're usually easily removed. The young lady who does the scheduling took care of the pre-admission and then scheduled my surgery. Dr. Martin is so very nice and caring. Very personable! I returned to have my stitches removed a few weeks later and he even explained how and what to expect before he proceeded. I go back to see him again for a follow up appt soon. I would most definitely recommend Dr. Martin for anyone who needs surgery!! PLUS, he's a young man and an excellent doctor, which means he'll outlive me!! I hope he stays here in Charleston for ALL our sakes!! ??????

He was very exact in explaining the conditions and what needed to be done. Listened to my questions and concerns and was very honest with me. He gave me the options of what should be done and when then made recommendations for referring me to another doctor to explore other problems before doing surgery.
