Dr. Lucy Budde, MD

New onset diabetes with HbA1c >14% with associated symptoms of extreme weight loss, mood swings, and blurry vision. This doctor prescribes lowest dose of metformin and says follow up in 6 weeks. Did not check if ketotic or acidotic or extreme electrolyte imbalance with the BG in the 500s. This doctor needs to contact endocrinology to assist with managing diabetes with new onset and HbA1c >14%. She needs to practice according to ADA Standards and follow the evidence based guidelines and initiate insulin with HbA1c >10%. Primary care should not manage new onset diabetes with HbA1c >14%.

Dr. Budde is always right on top of things. I can tell from my interaction with her that she has read the latest tests and scans etc and she answers all my questions thoroughly. She's the best!

Fantastic & thorough doctor. I have been diagnosed with a "disease" that many doctors don't know about or choose not to. Was so grateful that Dr. Budde knows about it, but also knows what we can do. She spent a great deal of time and we made a plan. So grateful that I will be working with her and not my awful gastro doc that basically said we don't know the cause or the cure - see you next year - WOW!

For years I was lucky and felt reassured to have Dr. Budde as my PCP - I truly miss having her in my corner! Leaving aside Kaiser related limitations and the quality of other team members, Dr. Budde is by far the best PCP you can get. She is one of the best all-around physicians there is in and out of the Kaiser network. She is VERY knowledgeable and a great resource, willing to hear you out entirely and takes a genuine interest in your well being, proactive and hands on, consistent and does her best to cover all your concerns every time, treats patients as people who she wants to help succeed instead of problems that need solving, keeps a calm but focused bedside manner and is capable of keeping you honest without being judgmental; she's prompt with prescriptions and lab results and during my many visits over the years, she never made me feel rushed once she'd walk into the exam room, even when the office was very clearly running behind. Dr. Budde is wonderful and a skilled physician

Dr. Budde is just great helping me understand the gut issues that I have been battling for a year. I have to evaluate everything I eat and drink. She does not just prescribe a pill unless it is necessary (like the antibiotic I needed when I had a perforation large intestine and diverticulitis 1/19), but suggests books to read so I understand how my body is working and why it is having these problems so I can educate myself, as I want to, and take care of myself in a more natural holistic way to help heal me gut and my mind because that it the way I want to heal. I can take care of myself/gut the rest of my life. She provides me tools not pills. I now know that when I have certain symptoms, I can address them myself without a prescription but with my diet and natural supplements that my body needs and is lacking. I understand and want that. She addresses the issue not the symptom. I trust in my relationship with her as a Dr. Thanks Dr. Budde!

Dr Budde is the best doctor that I have ever had the opportunity to work with. She explains everything very well and actually cares for her patients. I would give him 15 stars out of 5, if I could. She is that good.

Outstanding doctor! Very knowledgeable with a PhD from Yale and MD credentials. I have gone to Dr. Budde for years! She listens, is an outstanding problem solver, and gives pros and cons pertaining to options (when asked). I’m happy she is my primary care doctor and hope she continues to work for several more years!

Dr. Budde is not only informed and caring about me as a person, she meets my needs as her patient. She is extremely knowledgeable and kind about individual needs. She listens and responds positively, efficiently and effectively.
