Dr. Lucia Dattoma, MD

She was my elderly moms primary doctor for 5 years. My mom who just turned 85 last year over the years have been primarily healthy . Early last year, she was complaining early on that she started having pain on her knee. She told Dr Datoma and Dr Datoma referred her to a Physical Therapist who did Therapy for 4 weeks. She was okay after a while but the pain came back and eventually she cannot walk without the use of a cane and walker. She went to see Dr Datoma and she said that she was in a hurry & didn't even look at her & how bad it is. I am a nurse in UCLA Westwood, I know this is wrong for a doctor to completely ignore this. I switched her to another doctor and that doctor eventually referred her to a Rheumatologist and then to an Orthopedic Doctor. My mom just had a right hip arthroplasty. It was already that bad. As a nurse and a nurse for 25 years, I am upset that it was not prevented early on. Its your choice if you want this doctor to take care of your elderly parents.

Kind, competent, compassionate, and responsive, this doctor literally knelt on the floor to hand feed my dying mother.

I've been a patient of Dr. Dattoma for 7 years and she is the most caring, loving and attentive doctor I've ever know for 80 years. Her Geriatrics specialty has taught me so much about being healthy. I've trusted her in several areas in making decisions involving my life and she always has the best solution. I truly love Dr. Dattoma. She spends extra time than what is allowed to get me the best results. This doctor amazes me all the time with her decision making. Her staff is absolutely wonderful and helpful. She is on top of the list of the greatest doctors.

For the last 3 years, Dr. Dattoma has been the primary and geriatric care physician for my elderly mother who has Alzheimer's. She is a very knowledgeable doctor who is also very patient, considerate, compassionate and reassuring. Excellent in every way. Unfortunately my mother now lives too far from Dr. Dattoma's office to continue with her.
