Bad bad bad
IMO he is simply INCOMPETENT. That’s my opinion based on my family’s experience with him. DO NOT SEE HIM! And for Bethesda to employ him despite ALL THE BAD REVIEWS?! SHAME ON THEM TOO!!!!!

My daughter was put on meds for depression she was 19 at the time and wound up in the hospital, Dr. Gold said she doesn't need meds, stop them come and see me. He was awesome! No one else was as direct nor impactful with my daughter...it was life saving!!

Omg he should throw in the towel. Given he has 1.7 stars of 5 from everyone. Condescending, rude, nasty and truly a disgrace to doctors. He tells me that the 10 minutes he spent with my father in the hospital is millions of times more valuable than 5000 hours of my time (and my family) with MY FATHER!!! He should have his license revoked asap

I definitely recommend Dr, Gold. I have seen him three times so far, and I feel so much better! He is attentive, responsible, knowledgeable, and kind. Im so glad I found him! Sorry others feel they had a poor experience with him. This is totally opposite of my positive experience with this doctor.

My husband had an appointment with Dr. Gold today. We did arrive 13 minutes late and he was rude and refused to see him. He also refused to reschedule another appointment. This man is incorrigible and should not deal with people. If we were able to write this without putting in a star, that would be most appropriate.

I have been seeing Dr Gold for over years. He is a straight forward doctor. He is brilliant in pharmacology knowledge. He listens and cares. If you are looking for a Dr that can get your brain straight. I highly recommend him.

This man needs to have his license revoked. He is insensitive, unkind, and shouldn’t be practicing. We requested he stay away from my father while he was in the heart ICU at Bethesda but he continued to make attempts to treat him without our consent. He didn't listen to anyone's concerns and was degrading and arrogant.

My father was treated by Dr. Gold in an inpatient setting. I called to follow up on his visit with my father because my mom was confused and upset with his bedside manner. My conversation with Dr. Louis was no better. He was rude, insensitive and actually yelled and hung up on me. This man has no business treating patients especially those suffering with mental illness. He just needs to retire.

My experience with Dr Gold has been very positive. He really listens to my concerns. I feel he is more interested in helping ppl than money. He is matter of fact, has the expectation his plan will be followed as a patient. What psychiatrist doesn’t. He is willing to listen to feedback and act accordingly. Would highly recommend him. The really listening part is a wonderful trait.

Is this man still practicing? I will never forget my 2 visits with him. He’s a narcissist and only talks about himself. He’s rude, and cruel. He is actually dangerous is you’re not well; which is why we are seeking a psychiatrist. Stay far far away.

I don’t know why there are so many poor ratings for this doctor of ~45 years. He’s been treating me for almost 15 years and I feel fortunate to be his patient. He is precise and extremely knowledgeable. If one particular medication or combination doesn’t work for you, he tries something else that will. HE is the only Psychiatrist that got it right for me. This is not about bedside manner. This is not a doctor. I have had ADHD my entire life and went to this doctor and said adderall was causing some side effects. He went into an entire dissertation about how ADHD drugs are being abused by people and that they are missused. I am not some college student doing this for a better grade. I have been tested and treated for 30 years. He actually stated I will not prescribe any of those medicines. Like I was some drug seeking fiend I walked out in shock.

Dr. Gold is very no nonsense and I prefer that. He is not a hand holder and will not baby you, but he definitely knows he stuff. If you are looking for a professional straight-forward doctor who will give you the truth and be honest with you, he is for you. Very knowledgeable. Great doctor.

Horrible Dr! Very rude and condescending. my insurance called him for authorization for medication he called the represenative stupid. When I called him and asked to please call so the insurance could authorize the medication. He THREATENED to make me pay for another session because I am stupid. .Refused to see that he was in the wrong. Save your money & frustration & go somehwere else. This Dr. Should have his license revoked. He claims he has a full waiting room.. he never does! I can see why!

Dr. Gold was single minded with no room for any discussion. All decisions were his alone no matter how I felt. He stopped seeing me without warning and with no referrals at all. He has to be treated as a King due to his Chair of the Board services at Fairoaks. I came in to see him after my doctor had some financial legal problems but this doctor had stabilized me for 20 years. I started out suicidal daily and in hospitals monthly. He called the doctor "garbage". Very poor moral character

If you are looking for a doctor to prescribe you drugs without a close look, you should go elsewhere, he won't compromise his ethics. He may have saved my life, my general physician had prescribed a combination of drugs that was causing severe side effects which I didn't even know because my mind was so fogged. The doctor in Arkansas that did that , did it as a matter of practice ignoring the interactions. Dr Gold's no nonsense approach has given me a new life for which I'm very thankful.

This Dr. Saw my 88 yr. old Mother at a rehab center for five minutes, never saw her before. He decided without any discussion with me her caregiver to cut one of her meds in half then off it totally in 7 days. This medication she has been on for 3 years for severe arthritis. It has helped her chronic pain tremendously. The med was stoped on 5/17, today she was crying in pain with her level of pain being a 10. Isn't part of the oath Dr's take to improve patients conditions not worsen them?
