Dr. Louis Balsama, DO

I’m a 74 year old woman who has been battling weight problems from childhood. I was referred to Dr Balsama by my primary care physician. From my first appointment, Dr Balsama encouraged me to become involved with his program and staff. Dr Balsama stressed that “we” will help you get the weight off. This program is definitely a team effort, for sure. It took me several months to get approvals from different specialists. In addition, I had several counseling sessions with nutritionists. I was cleared for surgery and had the robotic Gastric sleeve procedure 2 weeks ago. I had a minimal amount of pain and was up and walking within a few hours post surgery. After an overnight hospital stay I was home and feel great! I’ve had many surgeries in the past. This was the least painful and fastest recovery. I attribute my quick recovery to Dr Balsama’s expertise and the pre and post surgery program he has established with his team. I'm losing weight too! I can’t thank him enough.

Had bariactric surgery with Dr. Balsama he was great. Made my decision easy surgery was easy only had 3 tiny incisions was back to work 3 days later. Best decision ever.

He is such a nice person and explains everything very clearly and really listens to you. His staff make it known they are there for you 100% when you have questions. This has been a very good experience.

I have been remiss in not giving this review by now. My surgery was 2 years a gall bladder removal. Following surgery I was given medicine which I didn’t and didn’t take. I had no pain whatsoever, in fact I was at work the next day. Dr Balsama spent time with me before the surgery, letting me know what to expect. He was there after surgery making sure there were no issues and there weren’t. If was getting my gallbladder out again, there one person I would go to—Dr Balsama.

Thank you Dr.Louis Basama ,Kathy, Chris & your whole team for saving my life. You all have made this experience great. Not only did you do the Gastric sleeve but you repaired my 10 cm diaphramic hernia and removed a lipoma from my heart that was causing me to go into left heart failure by pushing my heart to the left. Not only did you give me my life back with confidence you also removed all of the restrictions and fears that have been preventing me from truly living my life to the fullest.

Dr Balsama is one of the most down to earth Drs that I have ever encountered!!! Leaves no details unsaid. After my surgery, he spent time explaining everything to my husband in detail and easy to understand language!! Answered all questions and made sure my family had a full understanding of everything done. I highly recommend Dr. Balsama. Already have a friend and family member seeing him for their surgery.

Dr Balsama is a compassionate dr. Who sincerely cares about improving the lives of his patients. I had the surgery a year ago and have Lat approximately 80 pounds. I feel so much better, like my appearance so much more and feel like my old self again. His staff is wonderful and very helpful in this whole process and journey. Dr Balsama us very personable and has helped me reach a goal I could not achieve any other way.
