Limited scope of knowledge
If you have a minor health concern, Dr. Hendon would probably be a great physician. However, I’d been with Dr. Hendon for a couple years, in which I was offered birth control and then antidepressants for what ended up being bipolar disorder, which felt presumptuous and dismissive. I suffered mania several times from this diagnosis taking so long. I was told multiple times that spinal scans were clear, and they weren’t. I now need a third spinal surgery because they “don’t see many 20 year olds in my condition”. Spinal fusion is a relatively common procedure that 300k+ undergo annually, so that was confusing. Overall disappointed.

Finally found a physician I feel comfortable with, one that takes time to listen and no feeling of being rushed. Travel out of town for appointment with Dr. Hendon.

She's obviously appreciated by many...maybe I just caught her on a bad day. I presented with a fully-involved cellulitis of my left leg. It had started at a public hot tub and spread within 48 hours halfway up my calf. While she did prescribe an effective injectible and pills to follow up, her referrals to dermatologists in the area questionable. I wound up self-referring to 2 different OHSU MDs and to a PT specializing in lymphedema. The delay in finding proper care increased tissue damage.

Don't waste your time or money visiting her. Physical was a joke and went the following month for what I thought was pneumonia only to be told I had the flu and nothing she could do. Wait it out. She wouldn't take an xray or look into further. I was dismissed. Three weeks later I am at urgent care with double pneumonia. $588 for a physical that she did very little on and $361 for an office visit that as far as I am concerned was misdiagnosed.
