I'd broken my foot, Dr. Stead started treating it; four weeks later another OMG doctor did surgery, thank God. All Dr. Stead did was ordered x-rays and send me back home. Before the surgery, I was sent to Mayo for an EKG, the cardiologist asked me what was taking so long for the foot to be properly treated. I had an excellent doctor do the surgery and the foot has been fine.

I was living with significant pain for many years. I had surgery and am very happy to be pain free.

I would never over my dead body recommend Dr. Stead to anyone including my dog. He is nothing short of a butcher who smoozes his patients. He was supposed to do bunion surgery on my great toe and fix a hammer toe on my second toe. He ended up doing three surgeries to fix the first surgery. Instead of fixing the problem he removed joints from both of my toes completely maiming me for life. I had to have one toe fused and the other amputated at Mayo Clinic. I can’t express how disgusted I am!!!

I went in to have a very painful plantar wart treated in his office. He started trying to cut at it with a scalpel without numbing my foot. When I said, "hey that hurts" he proceeded to stab my heel with a long needle that was excruciating. No numbing spray. He kept on telling the nurse that he probably was not going to get a Christmas card from me and laughing. He waited 15 minutes to give me another shot and that was even worse. He never covered the pain. I was shaking and sobbing at the end.

I was planning a long trip and worried because my big toe ached. Stead said if I didn't do something it could stiffen up and "I wouldn't want that." He performed extensive surgery across all 5 toes, none of it necessary, nothing helping big toe osteoarthritis. His medical reports cited pain in the 4th & 5th toes. No! Traveled with a minced foot and no possibility for followup care, Stead said "I thought you'd heal in a month." Healing time 15 months. All I needed: orthotics and stiff soles.
