Dr. Lori Guyton, MD

Dr Guyton herself is wonderful. Compassionate, takes her patients seriously and listens and takes appropriate action. However, her staff, particularly her nurse, are incompetent and rude. They fail to schedule outside appts and secure required pre-certs in time, causing exams to be canceled, they never return calls and when they do, they are short and make you feel like a burden for having questions. They talk bad about other patients in front of anyone standing nearby. I was recently told I did not need to continue calling with a concern because they already left the answer to my question on my voicemail, however, I do not have vm and never have, meaning my health info was left on someone else phone. The nurse makes frequent mistakes and yet acts like the patient is out of line for being concerned that the same mistake will be repeated. She tends to pass the buck when her mistakes are called out, to the patient themself, the hospital or other staff. Overall the staff are dreadful.

This doctor did not do her job at all. She told me my sister would just keep getting worse and worse. My sister had three relapses in less than a year. My sister was in the hospital every other months with seizures or relapses. This doctor never saw her, never answered my questions, told me to bring her in for a office visit. My sister couldn’t walk and was in diapers at that time. I changed doctors and she has been seizure free for 7 months and has not had a relapse in 3 years! She is doing great with Dr Hornik! Guyton is terrible!

Went to Dr guyton about narcolepsy. Saw her twice and both times she ordered sleep study and both times the office person did not schedule it. I went in a 3rd time to see why it wasn't scheduled. Girl said she did,t rember seeing it and finally scheduled it. The day of test it was cancelled because they didn't receive orders. Tried calling dr office and they don't answer the phone goes straight to a computer message.

She did the same neuro exam (push, pull, etc), but didnt really "treat" me for basilar migraine symptoms that I was concerned with (TIA-like). Just come back in 6mos each time. Give me your copay. Have had this for over 30 yrs - hoped for more.

My appointment was canceled at the last minute without an explanation! The receptionist did not listen to my concerns!!

I was referred to Dr. Guyton by my primary care physician, regarding migraine headaches. First of all, I appreciate all the relevant/current literature she has in the waiting room. The staff is very friendly, down-to-earth and put me at ease. Dr. Guyton is all business and well-organized, WHICH IS EXACTLY THE WAY I WANT MY PHYSICIANS TO BE. I am very impressed with her phys. exam, history taking and plan for my headaches. I am grateful for her presence in the area!

She told me to immediately contact her if I had the symptoms for which she treats me, and she would see me. After a trip to the ER last night, I was instructed to see her. I called them went in to her office because my symptoms were worsening, and she had her receptionist turn me away. I went to another neurologist with whom I had no prior relationship, and he fit me in immediately because of my symptoms and history. That doctor will be my new neurologist.

Dr. Guyton is easy to talk to and gives me answers to my questions. Has always been very professional in my care. I trust her.

Rude, snappy. Downplays condition. Didn't seem to have time for me. Looking for another Neuro! Didn't even examine all my affected areas of disease.

I was there 15 min before appointment waited an hour to see nurse then at and hour and a half i was told after asking I wouldn't be seen for another half / hour so I never saw the doctor !This started at 07:45 AM I left at 09:45 AM un seen.

LISTENS well! Willing to review other doctors prognosis and recommendations. Is respected by her peers. Has a kind and gentle approach. Makes her patients feel at ease. You get to see her very close to the time scheduled. Does not believe in there is a pill for all things. Takes your feelings into consideration.

Very bad bed side manor.
