poor patient interaction
Dr. Townsend seems rushed, never makes direct eye contact and her answers to questions were not adequate. I even followed up with phone calls for info and never got questions resolved to my satisfaction. Quite frankly her bedside manner leaves a lot to be desired. After 34 years as a medical professional myself I would not recommend her.

Knowledgeable Doctor
I was having a slight double vision problem. Dr. Townsend told me she could surgically fix it by adjusting the the eye muscles. She fixed a years old problem in a matter of minutes. I read the reviews about long waits and her rushed demeanor. This is true but she has talents desperately needed in this and other communities. She is worth the wait.

This Doc is like sunshine on a cloudy day. She’s so warm, engaging & wonderfully personable...you instantly like her. She runs a tiptop, well oiled machine & is definitely an expert in time management. She has a delightful way of making you feel like she remembers you, & the intimate details of your case, without spending much time with you. Dr. Townshend is very wise, her people are expertly trained professionals. If you need a question answered, her staff competently picks up the slack!

Avoid this doctor. She triple books and the average wait just to get into a room is an hour. She rushes through the exam. First few years said everything is normal, says see you next year and quickly heads for the door. Our last visit, (and now final) told my child needs glasses for the first time. Before I could ask my first question, she smiled, said it will be great, see you next year, and quickly left the room. Found a professional who shows respect for both myself and my child.

Dr. Townshend is very knowledgeable but you always get the feeling she is in a rush. Typically she will spent 5 to7 minutes with you and she's on to her next patient. Good doctors do not do this. She needs to improve her bed side manner and spend more time with her patients.

Handles issues promptly. Always pleasant. She is quick, but that is what medicine is today.

Treats patients like cattle. Doesn't properly explain risks or options. Staff is great. Stay away from this doc. unless you have no other option.
