It is with immense gratitude that I write in support of Dr. Lisa Zakhary. I sought Dr. Zakhary’s medical counsel during a period of crisis. I needed an expert medical opinion on possible next steps in my treatment plan. Dr. Zakhary’s approach was clear, structured, and set ethical boundaries and reasonable expectations of what she could provide. She was extremely compassionate and thorough in her analysis of my situation, and gave me actionable steps that I could take with my healthcare providers. One of these recommendations led me to begin a new course of treatment that has provided stability and has enabled me to begin my healing process. If you have been seeking help and have been frustrated at wait times, misdiagnoses and needing multiple appointments to get to the root cause - you've found the correct doctor. Dr. Zakhary spent over two hours on our consultation and was able to tell within the first 20 minutes what my primary diagnoses was, which was missed over the past 20 years of being treated by different doctors. I was impressed at her quick understanding of problems, the ability to dig deeper into things that you may have otherwise glossed over as being unimportant. Her treatment plan was thorough but concise, and she was very compassionate along the way.

I am dismayed that Dr. Z could get anything but stellar reviews. My experience from first phone call to final meeting was professional, caring, exacting in her questions and observations and yet still very warm. I was apprehensive about cost $, but decided to invest in my mental health through a one time consult. It was worth it! Seeing her is like the “Tom Brady” of shrinks! - top of her game ! Super clear, specific and thoughtful questions with surveys in advance, obviously very very skilled and easy to talk to given the sensitivity of the topics covered. I had an excellent experience!

Dr. Zakhary is the absolute best psychiatrist for people suffering from Anxiety Disorders. I struggled with debilitating panic attacks for 14 years along with horribly intrusive OCD thoughts, before I found Dr. Zakhary. She was able to find me the perfect medication and dose to completely relieve my anxiety (zero panic attacks/no anxiety). It felt like a miracle. When I didn't want to change medications, because I was afraid things would get worse, she gently encouraged me to try a new approach. She deeply cares for her patients and will not give up until she finds the right combination of medication and therapy for your unique concerns. Some have noted that she is cold or uncaring - her manner may seem aloof when you first meet her, but I've found that she is actually deeply focused on your presenting concerns. After so many years of medication mismanagement, I am so happy I found her. Highly recommended.

Dr Zakhary is a kind, caring professional. She has a very quiet, calm style which was very comforting and allow her patients to fully speak to their issues. We highly recommend her services.

I would NOT recommend Dr Zakhary. She should not be helping people in their time of need. She is a very cold psychiatrist Thank goodness she’s not accepting new clients.

Dr. Zachary is a skilled clinician and has helped me tremendously, I have had very positive interactions with her and find her straight forward manner refreshing. She is an outstanding in her understanding of psychopharmacology.

Agree with most of the reviewers that she acts like she doesn’t care whether she does or not. She told my wife over the phone while I was in the hospital that I had “terrible coping skills.” She never followed up after my hospitalization and firing

Our son went to Dr Zakhary , struggling with anxiety/depression. It was a HORRIBLE experience... she does not care for people who suffer from Mental illness. This doctor is in the wrong field. Our son got much worse in her care.

Dr Zakhary is a very “straight to the point”, uncompassionate person. During my first appointment, she barely looked at me while asking me a lot of questions about things that are very difficult to discuss. When I didn’t appease her by answering all of them and explained that I didn’t feel comfortable because I didn’t trust her, she said “well then I don’t know what you want me to do. I can’t help you.” It is unfortunate that a top hospital employs such horrendous physicians in a sensitive field

She's very smart and knowledgable but lacks social skills to be a good doctor. I felt a sense of frustration and dismissiveness. I almost got the feeling that she was saying "deal with it" under her breath. She tends to want clear-cut answers to the treatment of symptoms, and has a tough time hearing that a medication change can have positive effects in one area and negative effects in another. In general, I often felt guilty reporting my symptoms, so I needed a change.

Cold, insensitive person who is in the wrong profession. No sense of compassion or even wanting to help.
