Zero Empathy
I accompanied my adult daughter to her first appointment with Dr. Emm. She came in for complaints of cramps and wanted to know the cause. Dr. Emm berated my daughter for 10 minutes trying to push her into use of hormonal birth control. My daughter was in tears after a 10-15 minute diatribe from Dr. Emm. I will say that I had a similar experience with Dr. Emm nearly 20 years ago myself. She berated me for my weight at the time. I was praying that my daughter's experience would be different - alas her personality was exactly the same as it was 20 years ago.Needless to say, we will not be going back.

Dr Emm failed to listen to me and instead basically told me that I was not in pain that I couldn’t be feeling the way I am and that she can’t support my time off work for pain and suffering. She referred me to a specialist to rule out other causes even though she knew the extent of my endometriosis and then told me to basically go through the GI dr going forward even though this was just a precautionary dr visit. Very disappointing experience.

From the moment I walked in the office I felt uncomfortable. Nothing I can put my finger on concretely, but still... Upon meeting Dr. Emm, she claimed to know by looking at sonograms if a cyst was cancerous or benign, strange, because as a lowly uneducated non medical degree holding woman I was under the impression that a biopsy was the way to get answer. I will never go back.
