We were referred to Dr. Barry by a friend. We were hoping things would go smoothly for our sons well child visiit, as we are new to the area and are trying to establish our new providers for our family. I left appalled. My son was born 5.5 weeks early weighing under 5 lbs. We have been happy to see him thrive in weight gain, overall growth, and milestones. This doctor basically told me my son is fat. Looking at him, he looks like a normal kid. He is not small boned but is a real solid kid. He's by no means fat! He has come in at the 90th percentile range for weight/height during well child visits from age 3-5. Prior doctors have never made such a statement saying he is thriving. After questioning me on how I feed my child and telling me to cut processed foods and sugar, Dr. Barry proceeded to give my son a lollipop and told me to watch my 2 yo, make sure she doesnt run and then choke on her lollipop. Am I not her parent? Guess she assumed I lacked common knowledge! Awful!

Dr. Barry has a great bedside manner and is easy to work with. She tends to have good availability with convenient appointment times. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that I had to have my infant son come in 4 times to have his neck rash treated with medications--I brought this concern up several times and was advised to use OTCs. Eventually, it got so bad that he was bleeding. Then she gave him an Rx, after he suffered for a few weeks with it. Aside from that, we have liked her.

I won't give her any star to begin with, service is substandard, found out our little man had high triglycerides and instead of advising him to take exercise and watch diet, told us he needs to see a therapist(psychology)when we refused, weeks after social services started contacting us about abuse. We did what us parents had to do watched his diet and made him do outdoor activities and a year after he's got cleared and now his stats are all normal. We decided to not to see this doctor.
