Not for me
She barely listened, brushed off my pain, and made me feel like my concerns didn’t matter. I ended up seeing a different doctor who took me seriously—and it turned out my issue did need treatment. I’m so glad I trusted my instincts. I don’t understand how people have written positive reviews.

Annual visit left me feeling sad and unheard
Extremely disappointed with my visit. The doctor was cold, dismissive, and barely looked me in the eye. She scoffed at my questions and made me feel like I was wasting her time. I left feeling completely dismissed and without any real guidance. It was clear she didn’t take my concerns seriously, which is unacceptable—especially in women’s healthcare. I will be changing practices because I don’t want to rely on a practice that hires a doctor like this.

Negligence impacting future pregnancies
I had an incredibly upsetting and negligent experience with this provider. During one of the most vulnerable and critical medical moments of my life, I received dismissive, careless care that could have had serious long-term consequences.Important medical information was never communicated to me. I was not informed about a time-sensitive treatment that is standard protocol and essential for protecting future pregnancies. I only found out about it through another provider, who was shocked it had been overlooked. I ended up needing to go to the emergency room to get the care I should have been given in the first place. This was not just a bad bedside manner—it was a dangerous level of neglect. If you are going through something as serious as a miscarriage, or anything requiring careful attention and competent medical judgment, I strongly suggest finding another provider. You deserve better than this.

Absolutely will!
Love Dr. Politano! She was caring, professional and answered all questions. She even suggested helpful remedies which other doctors failed to offer. I realize that OB GYN doctors are pushed but my time with her was fruitful and much appreciated!

Annual exam
She was running about 45 minutes behind and once she finally got in the room she had very little bedside manner. I totally understand running behind but she rushed in the room and in less than 10 minutes she was back out. I had several questions for her about trying to conceive and every time I asked a question she brushed it off and went to the next thing. Felt like I was more of an inconvenience than a patient.

Great experience
Had a great experience with Dr Politano, she was personable, gave great advice and made sure I understood what she was telling me. While this was a quick routine appointment, I felt comfortable scheduling my future appointments with her.

I've always been anxious about anything medical and I panic easily and always ask way too many questionsDespite being busy she took the time to explain everything answer all of my questions and talked me through every step of the appointment It took me so long to find a doctor I genuinely feel comfortable with and don't get anxious about seeing Couldn't recommend her enough

She was really late and looked annoyed that I went out of the room to check where she was (was waiting for 30mins inside the room). She barely asked me anything nor discussed my perimenopausal symptoms, just upped my dosage, thats it. Not a great experience.

Dr. Politano is amazing!
Overall the visit to the doctor was everything you want in terms of flow professionalism. I was greeted as soon as I got in with very little wait time, the nurse was kind, and Dr. Politano made me feel heard and was proactive on any concerns I had which is a relief to know your doctor is looking out for you and truly cares. 10 out of 10 experience!

Unheard
Terrible bedside manner. No empathy for a sad situation. Get you in and get you out kind of doctor. Second time seeing this provider and both times I felt brushed off and unheard. When I asked a question she even kind of snickered at me when she answered as if my question was dumb. I have been with Va Women’s center since I was 20 years old and have seen many providers at the practice. This is the only one I’ve ever felt that way with. Would never schedule with her again and after 20 years even thinking about switching practices.

I’m not likely to recommend her at all.
I went to see her for stomach pain that I have been having for almost a month. She acted like she really didn’t care about it. Just told me that she thought it was GI related. She was not warm and welcoming at all. Did not even examine me nor did she offer to give me anything for my pain. My husband was with me and he thought the same. He was actually the first one to say that she didn’t act like she cared.

Rushed and brushed off
Was told to come in for an appointment due to some concerning blood pressure and being 37 weeks pregnant & high risk. Part of the reason being my HR which I didn’t even get to bring up because she was unwilling to listen. Waited in the office for an hour before being seen and then she was only in the room for 5 maybe 10 minutes total. I did not get to voice any concern other than my blood pressure that was immediately brushed off. She is very rude & likes to talk down to you. Told me she was going to see about admitting me for monitoring at the hospital and then left the room without another word. I didn’t even know my appointment was over until the cleaning lady came in the room and informed us our appointment was over. Useless and very unhelpful doctors appointment. I’ve seen 3 other doctors at VWC and they are so much better by a land slide! I would personally recommend anyone else as the office itself is very nice and so are the other doctors. Very disappointed in this visit.

Disappointed
The two times I have been to this doctor I felt as if my concerns weren’t taken seriously. She’s definitely not welcoming or a people person but she also answered my questions with a condescending tone. She made me feel as if my concerns were invalid and also offered me no help other than recommending birth control and acting annoyed because I do not want to be on birth control. She was very dismissive and I will definitely not be returning as a client to her. She didn’t answer any of my questions and made me feel silly for what I was asking and even tried to convince me the rough stabbing pain I’ve been feeling in my ovaries is normal. Also when I put my urine sample in the cupboard for them to test, they had so many urine samples in there it felt super unsanitary and I am grossed out I had to see that and put mine in there with theirs? I feel like it should be one urine sample in the cupboard at a time. However the staff and the other women who worked with her are wonderful.

Satisfied visit
I am a new patient. After being with another practice for over 30 plus years. I thought it was time to venture out. My PCP recommend Dr. Politano to me. I was a little nervous at first to be visiting with a new provider. Dr. Politano presentation was very inviting, professional and truly knowledgeable. She listened and took time with me. She knew All the right questions to ask and seem to care about my Health which made the appointment so comfortable. I didn't feel rushed. I felt so comfortable with talking to her about my medical history and comfortable with her recommendations. I will definitely refer my family, friends and co-workers and anyone who ask. I proudly give Dr. Politano five Golden stars because it was well earned!!! Thank you!!!

Personable, Patient, and Dedicated
Dr. Politano is such a wonderful physician. She isn’t always warm and fuzzy and that’s okay because that’s not always what we need in medical care. We need honesty, patience, and simple dedication. Dr. Politano is just that - someone you want to have on your side as an advocate, as a medical provider, and as a confidant. I couldn’t be happier with my decision to have her as my OBGYN.
