Dr. Lindsay Smithen, MD

I was dealing with acute vision loss and was concerned about getting an appointment soon. She saw me the same day and answered all of my questions. Her staff was efficient and very friendly. She provided the appropriate diagnostics, was honest and gave me an appropriate referral.

Today, my 83- year old mom had a f/u appointment at 11:30 a.m., which I scheduled 4 days ago. After waiting for 15 minutes, I was told by Wanda, "Your appointment is at 12:30." At 11:55, Dr. Smithen said, "It doesn't matter what time the appointment is; you'll be seen next." Ten minutes later, Dr. Smithen repeated that comment right after Wanda told me, "There's no way I told you 11:30." Wanda then added, "You made the appointment yesterday at 1:30." I told her that was likely when the reminder call was made to my sister, not to me (another mistake). Dr. Smithen may be a good doctor, but her office support staff member was horrible. When a gentleman came in asking if he had an appt. today, Wanda told him it was on Thursday. She did NOT tell him what time nor did she offer him an appt reminder card. As a former medical office manager, that lack of care is unacceptable and disrespectful. In addition, you have to pay to park and they don't validate.
