Very Helpful
I had seen a few other doctors beforehand, but Dr. Fogelsanger was the first one who really seemed to understand my problems and offer and workable solution. He was kind, sympathetic, and easy to talk to.

He is great with me! For about 6-7 years now
I agree with the other 5 star reviews, and I am confused by the other negative reviews. He has been extremely helpful, attentive, consistent, and caring since my first visit... he is very knowledgeable and insightful.

Great Doctor
I was shocked reading the negative reviews below because they sound absolutely nothing like my experience with Dr. Fogelsanger. He has always been very friendly and really listens to me and how I am feeling and what I think I need instead of just trying to force extra unnecessary meds. He has always been very easy to get in touch with regarding appts, billing, etc. and if I have to leave a message he is always very quick to get back to me, usually in less than an hour. I would highly recommend Dr Fogelsanger, despite what others seem to have said about him in the past!

I have to say that I do not recognize the doctor described in these "reviews." Our experience with Dr. Foglesanger was to watch him interact with our family member in a direct and personal way--actually listening to what she had to say, asking questions for further information, and responding to her answers, her further questions and her comments. Granted, we were not seeing him for drug or alcohol problems, but for psychiatric problems that originated over a lifetime of unfortunate events and circumstances. The patient responded well to his care and looked forward to seeing him, even considering the distance we had to travel.

I see that he has bad reviews, but I've been seeing him for a year now and really enjoy it. I think he's a thorough psychiatrist but he seems to actually care and check in on patients. If you give him a bad review you are probably trying to score drugs you don't need, this man isn't going to prescribe you whatever.

The only reason I gave 1 star was because -10 was not an option. He is interested in billing people not helping people. Not even sure what guidance he provides. His people skills lack.

0 out of 5 stars! This guy needs to have his medical degree taken from him. The WORST doctor I have ever encountered.

This doctor is dangerous! I have had the unfortunate experience of being his patient for years (I was too sick to know any better) and he missed diagnoses, refused to evaluate me for issues I felt I had (which I was later actually diagnosed with), blames the patient for his incompetence (ex. after discussing and deciding together that we will remove a medication, he blames me for manipulating him into removing the medication and resisting treatment), he thinks I am always using substances and has in the past tried to even convince my husband that I was using as well (he didn't buy it and felt the guy was STRANGE at the very least), he thinks I am constantly lying, manipulating and non-compliant. His psychotherapy consists of TELLING you how you feel and gaslighting (if he can convince his patients that they r the "crazy" ones, they will keep coming back to see him). THERE IS SO MUCH MORE... FIND SOMEONE ELSE! I always felt worse after my appointments with him!

Never went to my first appointment. Called with an insurance question. He talked down to me like I was an idiot. Then I read these reviews and cancelled my first appointment.

If I could give him zero stars I would. After 2 complaints about the medication he prescribed me still did not adjust. He was the most unprofessional person I have met. He shows no way to talk to people. He is very unsympathetic and has no tact in talking to people. Thank god I am stable enough not to harm myself. It was so bad I walked out of my appointment in tears. No doctor should ever make their patients feel worthless.

We live in a backwards world where this man is allowed to guide others in their mental health. Always distracted, tries to multitask (unsuccessfully), interrupts, asks questions that were answered minutes before, shows no empathy or true concern for well-being, appears to be skeptical of everything - even basic pieces of information. It is possible that he is really smart about the medication part of his job but I'm not educated enough to be sure . But PEOPLE...wow....he does not "get" people.

I would never recommend this doctor! He lacks any professional courtesy and shows little interests in his patients concerns. His attitude suggested that everyone that comes to him is seeking controlled substances to abuse. Don't waste your time because he isn't interested in actually helping anybody
