If I could leave zero stars, I would. This review is to express my concern regarding the medical care or lack thereof my father received on his last three visits to the UAMS Health Radiation Oncology Center 3900 W. Capital Ave., Little Rock, AR 72205 with Dr. Leslie Harrell. She has treated our family with such carelessness and unprofessionalism that this can no longer go unaddressed. The first visit was October 3, 2024. He arrived at the Oncology Center for an appointment with Dr. Leslie Harrel. He was checked in to the facility and a short time later one of the medical technicians came out and we went into the patient treatment area. My dad asked the technician what was the procedure for today and he stated we were going to start a series of Radiation treatments over the course of the next few days. I stated, no one informed me of this procedure, especially covering multiple days. He lives 150 miles from Little Rock and could not be making that drive back-and-forth over multiple days. Dad informed him that we need to reschedule this to give him time to make lodging arrangements in the area and we can have available change of clothes. The tech stated he would have to contact Dr. Leslie Harrel to make any schedule changes. He made the call and we left the Oncology Center to return to Texarkana, TX. That was a 300-mile wasted day. My next appointment at the Oncology Center was scheduled for October 21-25, 2024. During the check-in process he was informed that after each daily Radiation Treatment, he would have a follow up meeting with Dr. Leslie Harrel. Once he completed the five days of Radiation treatment, he went out into the hallway area and took pictures at what they called the victory plat. Not one day as was communicated would take place, Dr. Leslie Harrel never came to a post treatment session. He did not have any post treatment update as to how the treatment went or what any potential results may be or did we accomplish the desired objectives? Absolutely no communication at all from Dr. Leslie Harrel. He did not even see her during the week I was there for the treatment. This most DISRESPECTFUL straw comes as he had a scheduled appointment with Dr. Leslie Harrel for January 3, 2025 at 11:20 am. He & my mother arrived at the Oncology Center at 10:30 am on the day of the appointment. He checked in downstairs, but were advised we needed to check-in on second floor. He got to second floor, checked in at 11:15am and as we moved over to the waiting area, there was Dr. Leslie Harrel there in the waiting area chatting with a small group of people. They heard her tell the group they needed to go downstairs. The group got up, exited the waiting area. My parents sat in the waiting area to be called by the doctor. At 12:19pm, I saw Dr. Leslie Harrel come walking back through the waiting area with what looked like a Styrofoam container, looked like it may have been her lunch. M parents were still waiting in the waiting area. About 20-25 minutes later Dr. Leslie Harrel came from the back area where the patients are taken when called by the doctor. She was with a small group of people and they were laughing and talking and seemingly having a great time. They walked through the waiting area and left the area. At this point it’s 12:45pm and we have been waiting since we got there and checked in. Noone ever came out to tell us the doctor was running behind on schedule, not a mumbling word from anyone. My parents were totally ignored! At 1:00pm, he told my mom "lets go". We had been in the waiting area for 1 hour 40 minutes without a word from the doctor or anyone regarding my appointment time which was scheduled for 11:20am. This has been the absolute worse experience we’ve ever experienced from a professional. He has not received any communication regarding the Chemotheraphy treatment, nor the Radiation treatments.
