My experience with the doctor was no that great, l am not sure because my insurance, After the next day after my precidue l called nobody answered the staff in his office were not to great

Unfortunately never had the opportunity to see the doctor. I made an appointment back in July for November. I received a phone call last week about my upcoming appointment and returned it today to learn that my appointment was cancelled because I didn’t call them back the same day. The receptionist was incredibly rude (this was after I was placed on hold and passed to three separate people) and lacked basic customer service skills. When I expressed my frustration of having an appointment cancelled after waiting for months the receptionist responded with “if you feel that way, maybe this isn’t the practice for you.” If I were the doctors on staff, I’d be horrified to learn that the receptionist spoke to a patient that way.

Been seeing Dr Mendez for years. You will not find a better gastro doc. My daughter worked with him and recommends him over all GI docs at WHC.

Highly knowledgeable and professional doctor that goes beyond his duties and responsibilities. Spends lots of time with a patient if the patient has problems. Knows not just his field, but many fields of medicine, and knows them well. I complained about other, not gastroenterological problems, and he did an entire examination of me, advising me what to do and which doctors to see. His nurse called me promptly as soon as test results came, and told me Dr. Mendez's recommendations.

Dr. Mendez is not only an excellent physician, but he also has a sense of humor. He LISTENS to his patients. For example, he said the symptoms I described "fit to a T" the results of the diagnostic procedure I underwent. I believed my prior GI specialist (highly rated) was very good. In comparison to Dr. Mendez, I would only rate my prior GI MD as 2 stars at most.

Dr. Mendez has gone above and beyond expectations for my wife and me. He has one of the most pleasant bedside manner that you will find anywhere and always takes the time to explain everything in detail (and sometimes with a much-needed sense of humor). After speaking with multiple physicians about bowel issues and diet routines, Dr. Mendez has been the only one that seemed willing to find the cause rather than just treat the symptoms.
