Have you ever heard of an ER physician following up with patient? Dr. Samuels did that several days after I had a PEG tube removed at the Hahnemann ER. My HUP doctor was on an extended vacation, and no one else at HUP would remove the tube, regardless of pain levels. Four days after the ER procedure, Dr. Samuels called to check on pain levels. They were up, so back to the ER, and an admission. I will be having a surgical procedure to remove abscesses resultant from the long present PEG.
