Terrible Experience
Dr. Kaplan did not review any of my tests or imaging results (which I had a lot and all of the records Dent has) prior to seeing me. He asked me multiple questions and when I told him the diagnosis multiple doctors thought it could be, he said they were wrong. Then, while I thought I was there for injections, he did minor testing with needles, and didn't even check one of the areas where there could possibly be nerve entrapment. He then told me a different diagnosis which I had never heard of and none of the 10+ doctors I had seen had ever mentioned. He did not explain it to me or ask if I had any questions. He then walked out and went home for the day. I have never been treated so poorly by a doctor and made to feel so terrible about my health issues. There are better doctors out there that will treat you like a human being, not a machine

Dr Kaplan never fails to impress and provide effective treatment. He follows the practice of doing no harm to the patient, taking the time necessary for an evaluation of the symptoms and presents treatment options so that you can make an informed decision. He stays up to date with the cutting edge of medical science and technology. He has successfully treated me for herniated disks (lumbar and thoracic), TMJ, semi detached shoulder connective tissues and symptoms of aging. I have gone from limited walking and debilitating chronic pain (back and head) and excessive weight ~ 235# to the point where I can do what I want ~ (175# Heart Rate Variability ~105 ms, resting heat rate 42 bpm) and am continuing to push the envelope.

Excellent! PRP treatments were amazing and healed a torn meniscus from a bad skiing injury. I am avoiding surgery now that another Dr. wanted to do. My knee, within a few short weeks is back to 100% and strong! This Dr is a wealth of knowledge and uses new and cutting edge technologies. I have had great success with Dr Kaplan also on my neck a few years ago with Prolotherapy. The office staff is all very well trained and professional. Never any waiting as with other Drs. He is very knowledgeable ,takes his time, explains in detail the cause of your pain and treatments he can offer and their outcome. He is whole body minded and will treat the cause of the problem and not just mask the symptoms with drugs or unneeded surgery. My knee has new growth tissue from PRP treatment and still growing stronger everyday versus the surgery that would have cut away half my meniscus! Thankfully I made the right choice. I would highly recommend OWM to anyone, even my own Mother! Thx Doc!

I had seen Dr. Kaplan for some prolotherapy for my SI joint dysfunction in previous years so there was no question about who I would go to first when I injured my knee. I had had a previous ACL tear that was surgically repaired and grafted 10 years ago. I tore the graft while skiing and really wanted to avoid another surgery at al costs. Dr. Kaplan suggested PRP injections into the remaining fibers of my ACL. It worked wonderfully! I had two sessions of injections one was two days post injury and the other was about 4 weeks later. He also prescribed physical therapy to strengthen all the muscles around the knee. I am now nearly 4 months post injury with no buckling or instability. I am so grateful for this innovative and knowledgeable Doctor. I will absolutely continue under his care if life happens to bring any more challenges.

I was there for an injection from Dr. Kaplan. I was early but it worked out. The nurse took my vitals and within a few minutes it was my turn. Dr Kaplan always goes over what he is doing and checks where my pain is and while he is administrating the shots he asks if I'm ok, does hurt, how am I doing. It only takes 5-10 minutes and I am done. Wonderful doctor, wonderful people who work with him.

I have been trying to find this man for years since he moved to thank him. I had leg pain so severe I could no longer walk, or sit and rise (a 10 for sure). At the time he offered a relatively new procedure to remove hip bone debris by a procedure that I believe was called Tenex or Terex. He was a pioneer in our area (Amherst, NY). After the procedure my pain went from a 10 to a 0 !!!! I have never had a more dramatic medical procedure, thanks to Dr. Cohen. This was about 8 years ago and my legs are still pain free. So happy to be able to let him know.

Dr. Kaplan is an Osteopathic physician, so you will not receive traditional medical intervention as provided by MDs. He has two practices: at the Dent Institute and downtown Osteopractic Wellness where I see him. He not only saved my life but gave me my life back. I had two major joint surgeries and saw 12 different MDs and was still in severe pain until I saw Dr. Kaplan for the past 39 months. My pain has been with soft tissue ie ligaments and tendons of the pelvis, low and upper back, hip and knee. (traditional medicine thinks only of bone and nerves). I have received prolo therapy, PRP and stem cells as appropriate to my pelvis, back, left knee and right shoulder and just recently to right jaw. My pain is gone. I am riding my horse, doing yoga, going to the gym, traveling throughout this planet. Dr. Kaplan, is compassionate, listens, explains, respects, and expands his knowledge in the latest interventions of osteopathic practice. He goes above and beyond. Can't say enough.

Dr. Kaplan is very kind and good at explaining everything to the patient. He took a different approach to diagnosing the source of my knee pain that had been occurring for 8 years that other physicians were not able to (I kept being sent to PT). He listened to me when describing my pain and was able to non-surgically remove the scar tissue which was casing my pain.

It was providential that I had an appointment with Dr. Kaplan today. I was totally impressed with Dr. Kaplan. I've had many major surgeries in the past 3 years and Dr. Kaplan was the first medical provider that talked about treating my whole body, not just prescribing medicines or giving me shots. His approach to helping me become well again made so much sense. His listening skills, empathy and interpersonal skills are very impressive. He made time for me! I highly recommend him!

Very disappointing! My husband has been suffering from headaches for months and he was referred to Dr. Kaplan. Dr. Kaplan was very condescending and bad mouthed our primary doctor and PT. Since he could not find a reason for my husband's pain he basically called him a liar and was very dismissive. He kept saying "oh, just go to the chiropractor for an alignment", if someone is experiencing pain by touch why would you recommend that? I would not recommend this doctor.

Dr Kaplan is very knowledgeable professional and helpful. I originally went to see Dr Kaplan for muscle spasms related to cervical herniations, he helped decrease these spasms using Botox. The improvement was 90% better, at one of my appointments I had mentioned that I was hoping the Botox injections in my neck would have helped my migraines. And he said that he could administer Botox for my migraines and hopefully it would help. It did help, my migraines decreased by 95%.

I started seeing Dr Kaplan at Buffalo Spine & Sports & now at Dent for migraines & neck pain. (Botox) I trust him completely with sticking needles in my neck! He is very confident & conservative. He has treated my shoulder pain & I was able to avoid surgery! He also found a rib out of place when I had different back pain & resolved it quickly. He identified & treated the tendon in my hip causing pain. Dr Kaplan knows what he's doing. He is very busy but always answers my questions!

Dr Kaplan is a rude, arrogant, condescending person who is extremely confrontational. This wasn't unique to my experience because I overheard him yelling at one of his staff nearby in a completely unprofessional way almost directly in front of me. One visit was enough, I can't recommend to people enough to not deal with this guy, he's a total jerk.

I have seen Dr Kaplan periodically over the past ten years for lower back and neck problems. He is a good listener and a doctor fueled by curiosity and compassion. He has successfully brought me back fro three injuries over the years. I trust him wholeheartedly and recommend him to all my friends. His cutting edge use of different injection therapies stands above anyone in WNY.

I have torn rotator cuffs in both shoulders. One had a full thickness tear. Dr. Kaplan has treated them with PRP and Prolo therapy. New tissue has formed. Even the full thickness tear has healed! I have avoided surgery and was able to continue working (carefully) during treatment. I strongly recommend seeking his console for what ails you. Alternative treatments are not vudu. They are leading edge treatments to problems that fail to be successfully treated by more generally accepted means.
