over 15 years of going to Dr Wachtel- each and every time I have gone to him to have dental work done, I have been grateful for his careful, kind work as well as the cheerful and efficient work of each member of his office staff too. He was recommended to me at a time when I had previously had extra painful experiences w dentists and fear was a serious barrier for me. I had a friend who's daughter with Downs Syndrome was terrified of dentists, and yet this daughter loved and trusted Dr Wachtel. I figured that was the BEST kind of recommendation I could find and it was! By personal experience I have found Dr Wachtel to be not only a good dentist, but also a good man. Grateful

Caused excruciating pain for months. Had to go to another dentist and spent $2600.00 to fix what this guy did which was intentional. Hardly slept for months it took to get what his guy did fixed. What was done to me was worse than what the dentist did to Dustin Hoffman in the movie marathon man. I will never forgive or forget and I still get angry just thinking about it.

What a great dentist! Personable, prompt, knowledgeable and a sense of humor. His office staff was all wonderful too. He was a big part of figuring out a weird jaw problem.

Went in for pain on my right side and he drilled on my left. I stopped him and said nothing wrong over there. Wachtel said something he had done over there was sticking out and bothering him. Since I had trusted Wachtel, I let him proceed which was a HUGE mistake. It turns out Wachtel drilled out two fillings he had put in previously and it caused immediate and excruciating pain. I had to see a new dentist to find out what Wachtel had done and it was verified he removed 2 fillings that left nerves exposed. I found out later this was done out of anger since his receptionist, Dawna, told Wachtel I had no dental insurance. Talked to Dawna on the phone after receiving the bill and she said I had no insurance. Told her I did just call Delta Dental and she said she used my SSN and it showed I had no insurance and refused to call. I called and Delta Dental told me SSN is used for employer's plans and all she had to do was call, and I even tried to give her the info over the phone.

I was happily a patient of Dr. Wachtel for 15± yrs. However, things appeared to change recently when I was diagnosed with cancer & had 2 major surgeries, radiation & chemo. 2 upper front teeth were problematic so Wachtel referred me to an oral surgeon whose advice conflicted with that of my oncologist. This left me with a confusing dilemma. I wanted another opinion and set up a consultation (no treatment). The timing was such that I had to delay resolution of this dental issue while I had the above-mentioned cancer treatment. Enter covid-19. During the re-opening of businesses I called Dr. Wachtel’s office to seek further treatment and was told I was no longer his patient. The reason given was **You went to another dentist** I was surprised, saddened and upset at this unprofessional treatment, as second opinions are very common in the medical & dental fields. Since Dr. Wachtel knew of my cancer, his decision seemed excessively rigid & unfair, lacking compassion when I needed help.

My husband ans I have been patients of Doctor Wachtel for many years and drive up from Tucson, where we live, just for the appointments with him....we like him that much! My greatest fear is that someday he will retire!!! Couldn't ask for a better dentist! We love his entire staff too!!
