As I entered Dr. Mead’S exam room, while waiting to see him I saw an article on the wall relating to the outcome of surgeries and procedures provided and the percentages of success in relation to each. I was not sure if I wanted to spend the money they were charging for a bone marrow stem cell procedure. After reading that article I decided that it was for me. Bear in mind I am a 90 year old facing a moderate tear of my right arm rotator cuff. During the prep for the procedure I was given a pain medication for the immediate aftermath of the surgery. I went home and spent the rest of the day reading. When getting ready for bed that night I was starting to feel a minor pain and not wanting to spent my first night on pain I took my first pain pill. The next morning I again had a pain level on about 3 going on so I took my second pain pill. That second night I again was experiencing a pain level of about 3 and took a third pain pill. The next morning I had about a pain level of 2 and took

After suffering for 6 months with arthritis and degenerative meniscus tear in my left knee to the point that I had to use crutches daily, I had a Clarix injection from Dr. Leon Mead. I have been pain free for 3 years! The injection itself was painless and I had very little recovery time after. I highly recommend Dr. Leon Mead and Clarix!

My experience with my knee replacement using stem cell therapy was wonderful! I experienced full range of motion right from the start. My physical therapist was very surprised and pleased with my 125 degree range. Even my surgery scar is disappearing. If I someday need another knee, I would definitely do stem cell therapy again.

Just wanted to say that my full right hip replacement from Dr Mead was a slam dunk I was off the walker in four days, the cane in two weeks and my pain level never rose above a 2, resulting in zero use of pain meds. I attribute this to an exceptional and gifted surgeon, a stellar team, the use of stem cells and following directions for a great rehab to insure best results. It might be stretching this a bit by saying my hip surgery was a wonderful experience but I will say it was most definitely a good experience with wonderful results. Exceeded expectations by a mile. This surgery performed by Dr Mead has not only given me my life back but it’s better than ever before. This has not only benefited myself but has made my wife so happy to have her husband now healthier, stronger and happier. What a game changer! Thank you Dr Mead and his exceptional staff! Ed Cuccio

I couldn’t have believed how easy knee replacement surgery would be. Post op I was in minimal pain. The first twenty four hours I had a lot to learn which was facilitated by a wonderful hospital staff. I was walking with a walker in six or so hours after surgery with tightness in my knee but no pain. At home care was exceptional with a nurse and a physical therapist who taught me the exercises I would need to do daily. I was driving two weeks post surgery. I believe this rapid progress was due to an excellent surgeon, Dr. Mead, stem cell therapy and wonderfully competent at home care professionals.

Highest recommendation
Dr Mead performed a procedure to clean up scar tissue from an old shoulder injury I suffered playing football in high school, and he did a hip replacement for me about 6 years ago. I am now 76. The outcome of both procedures could not have been better. The recovery time for my hip replacement was unbelievably short, I was walking, albeit slowly, in the hospital hallway the day after the surgery. I was playing tennis within 3 months. His staff is terrific and he follows up regularly to be sure I have no problems, and I have had none. I have had a dozen surgeries for various sports injuries and I consider Dr. Mead the best surgeon I have been fortunate to have found.

Dr. Mead is very knowledgeable and put me at ease before my knee replacement. I am so happy I finally had the procedure done because my daily life has changed for the better. He’s a wonderful Doctor and his Assistant Mike and the entire administrative staff is the best! I highly recommend Dr. Leon Mead and his office.

My experience with my knee replacement surgery with Dr Mead has been one of the most positive surgical experiences of my life. From the initial visit through the surgery to the follow up appointments Dr Mead and his group exceeded my expectations. I truly believe that the stem cell treatment contributed greatly to the reduced pain and quick recovery that I experienced. Even my physical therapists were surprised at my rapid recovery. When I need any additional orthopedic work done I will certainly return to Dr Mead and highly recommend him to anyone in need of his specialty services.

He’s the Greatest!!
Dr Leon Mead is my most trusted doctor. He has operated on my frozen left shoulder, he also did bi lateral(double) knee replacement six years ago. Just four weeks ago I had rotator cuff surgery and he made the Suggestion to take my stem cells and insert during surgery. I discussed with my husband and decided to go for it and I’m soooooo glad I did. Four weeks out and I’ve had NO PAIN. It’s unbelievable to have this surgery and not experience any pain of any sort.

The knee scope and stem cell treatment that was done was excellent. Two weeks recovery and 6 weeks physical therapy I was feeling great. After one year I was 100% recovered. I bike and hike as if nothing was ever wrong with my knee.

I had right knee replacement in Chicago last year. The experience was horrendous. The pain was unbearable. It took over a year to heal. I could not sleep well for 4 months. My experience from the prior surgery created a belief never do this again. From word of mouth I heard about Dr Leon Mead. My fear of operational procedures caused to try the stem cell only. It helped, but was not was complete. I asked about his knee replacement in conjunction with stem cells. The amazing results were phenomenal.I walked with no aid in less than a week. The pain and suffering was a small faction from the previous surgery. My friends were amazed of the results. Thank you aiding me to enjoy life again

I had a left knee replacement surgery 1/22/2021 with Dr. Leon Mead. Everything went very well. I finished my physical therapy last Wed 4/14 with flying colors. The whole procedure and aftermath was terrific. Dr. Leon Mead did a wonderful job. There is. Virtually no scar to be seen. I am walking, exercising and pitching and putting in Golf. The staff is so very professional, kind and pleasant. I had the Stem Cell injection which speeded up my recovery, according to my PT therapist and verified by Michael Garcia, PA-C and Dr. Mead. I highly recommend Dr. Leon Mead for any of your orthopedic needs. He also replaced my right hip 14 years ago, fixed an elbow problem with an Epicondolectomy and did an arthroscopic procedure on my husband knee. He and his staff are the best,

Six weeks ago I received a Clarix shot for bone on bone pain. The day of the procedure I only experienced some discomfort that evening from the shot. Within two days I was able to resume my daily activity of walking 5 to 6 miles . In addition, I have been able to continue another of my daily activities climbing up and down 14 flights of stairs. Another activity I plan to do is down hill skiing out West. I also had 5 weeks of physical therapy which helped my range of motion I have not experienced any pain since the procedure and have been able to resume my daily workouts without pain and fear of doing damage to my knee.

Doctor did not see me. Even when I had an appointment. They have very rude staff. Apparently they have so much people (business) that they get to choose who they see. Very disappointing, never felt so descriminated in my life.

My first new patient visit was today... I have to say I was very impressed with the professionalism and the kindness of the staff.. Dr. Mead is very easy to talk with and puts you at ease with his dry wit, humor and personality.. He gave me the appropriate time for a New patient and explained everything perfectly. The office is very clean, tidy and professional. It is also easy to find off of Goodlette Frank.. The CSR's up front were very helpful on the phone answering questions and making you feel as ease..

I just had my second knee replacement done by Dr. Mead. I highly recommend him. He really listened to me during our consultation, and my first knee which was done in December feels and looks great. I am three days post-op on the second knee and am feeling well, and pain medication is effective. Everyone in his office and at the hospital were wonderful.
