I’m a believer!
A year ago I started with Dr. Matsuo after several years with Kaiser. Dr. Matsuo recommended that I give a plant based diet a try. I’ll admit I was skeptical but I forged ahead with his encouragement. Today I’m 32 pounds lighter and no longer on high blood pressure medications ( I was on two) and off my statins. Mahalo Dr. Matsuo!

Dr. Matsuo is a terrific physician! He spent lots of time explaining my medical problems and suggested therapy. One of the best doctors on the Big Island!

Dr. Leon Matsuo has been my primary care physician for approximately 5 years -- first at West Hawaii Community Health Center. Then, when he and his wife opened Kukui Lifestyle Medicine Clinic, I transferred all my medical records there and went into the office in December for my annual exam and checkup. Dr. Matsuo rewrote my prescription for me and ordered a series of lab tests. When I received the results of my blood work, a couple of abnormal items got my attention. I called the office to schedule an appointment to speak with Doctor and left a voice message, but no one has ever called me back. Since then, I have telephoned the office twice, sent 2 emails and an online submission, sent 2 faxes, and snail-mailed a hard copy letter to the office street address as well as to Dr Matsuo's P.O. Box address. None of these communications have met with any reply whatsoever. The office is still open for business, and I cannot understand why no one is contacting me. It feels so unprofessional.

Dr. Matsuo takes time with each person, he works well with other doctors on your case, he really listens and remembers what you say. The best doctor I've ever been to.
