Long Covid Relief
I've been struggling with brain fog and fatigue from long COVID, and finding Dr. Cohen has been such a relief. From the first visit, they were kind, patient, and took the time to listen. I never felt rushed or dismissed, they genuinely cared about helping me feel better. Thanks to their thoughtful approach and support, I’m finally starting to feel like myself again. I can’t recommend them enough to anyone dealing with similar symptoms. You're in good hands here!

Knowledgeable and calming
Dr. Cohen saw me for a hyperbaric appointment. This was my first time with this kind of treatment. I found him both competent and reassuring, walking me through everything to expect.

Read the negative reviews before yoi chose him
I had a very negative experience with this doctor. I went for an EMG testing,.I brought him my records to look at before the testing so he can test the right parts of my body, not only he declined to look at my records but he also did not listen what my symptoms are. He was rude and he did a very bad exam. His was rushed and he did not pay any attention to my condition. As a result he gave a very confusing opinion and I have to repeat the EMG with another doctor. Before you go to this doctor, please read the negative reviews.I do not recommend this doctor.

Incompetent
I recently saw this guy after my neurologist retired. I had a brain injury which the symptoms are considered irreversible. I gave Cohen my records, including abnormal brain scans and neuropsych testing. He also observed abnormal findings in his office exam. However he told me he did not feel comfortable endorsing my prior diagnosis. Despite all the medical documentation from my prior doctors. He offered no diagnosis or treatment. Waste of time. Luckily, the first neurologist I saw after Cohen endorsed my diagnosis and offered treatment and remains my neuro to this day. He’s great !! However Cohen is a big thumbs down !

My wife had some hand tremors and got a brain scan. Rather than give us the results he made us wait 4 days. Then he has his nurse call and say, you results came back abnormal, we need to see you tomorrow. We had two other doctors look at the results. This guys a totally mean and inappropriate person to be seeing patients. His demeanor is rude and very offensive.

This was a bad experience from the moment I walked into the door at my first appointment. The receptionist had her mask under her nose when COVID was at its worst, and did not fix it the entire time we interacted even as I stood very far away from her. Then when Dr Cohen came in my exam room, he had his mask under his nose too! I told him it made me uncomfortable and he made an excuse about not having time to fix it. From there he ordered a bunch of tests after barely listening to me or even doing a complete exam. The communication after that was horrible. I tried to reach them for two weeks after my first appt and no one called me back. When I finally did reach the front desk, the receptionist made excuses. I gave him another chance but communication was still so awful. He was also so rude to his staff at the infusion place in Lakeview! I never did get any answers or help and haven’t heard from them for two weeks. I would never recommend Dr Cohen to anyone.

Horrible! After telling me he suspects I have a debilitating illness he told me I needed 3 tests. I took 2 tests immediately and after 2 weeks, I took a 3rd and final test. He explained that the 3rd test would have immediate results. Therefore, I expected that following my 3rd test, which he administered, he would talk with me about all of my tests. He refused to give me results from my test. He said he never looked at the first 2 tests that I took because he was busy and I would have to come back after an additional 2 week wait. he refused to call me with results and refused to give me my own records unless another doctor made the request. My 1st test was 7/21/20. My last test was 8/11/20. He scheduled my to talk about my results 8/25/20. As a doctor you don't tell someone they have a major illness and make them wait 5 WEEKS to give them a diagnosis. Especially when the person continues to have symptoms. He is incompetent and does not care.

BEWARE! Saw him after a concussion. He offered me zero treatment. Declined to investigate vascular irregularities in my brain MRI. Scared me by telling me since I had four concussions, I was at risk for CTE, the horrifying disease that football players get (spoiler alert: other neurologists have said this is untrue). Told me “there was nothing wrong with me” but also that “concussions were cumulative” and I wouldn’t get better. Signed off on me to go back to work after three months with no restrictions when I couldn’t function. I’m now getting ready to return to work, after over a year of rehabilitation. Turned out, the concussion messed up my vision, which in turn scrambled all of my other senses. So there was something wrong with me, there was a treatment for it, this doctor just didn’t offer it to me. As a result I could’ve been stuck with zero quality of life. Luckily I was too stubborn to accept that!

DR had the nerve to say “I have other patients!” After checking a phone call on his cellphone. I literally cried! He says “why I make a lady cry” ummm let’s see you just got done telling me I suffered a traumatic brain injury and I can’t be on my phone, computer or watch TV and then told me church and bible study was too stimulating for my brain and when I ask you ?s your answers are dismissive! THEN! My workman’s comp case manager has left serval vm’s over the past 2 weeks and no return call!

There is a serious lack of care and concern for patients from this doctor and his staff. Vital prior authorizations are not filed timely or properly, no return response for multiple messages left, Doctor point blank said he lacks the staff to properly file papers for insurance approval leaving me without medication he prescribed. More concerned with filing billing than with patient care. If you're in pain don't see him he's no help, cares very little about you as a patient.

Very rushed and impatient. Appeared to be in a hurry for next appointment. As it turned out, his rushed diagnosis was incorrect as proven by two other follow up Physicians.

I had a TIA/ministroke diagnosed by Dr. Cohen, who ordered a test for a Patent Foramen Ovale (hole in the heart). The test came back positive, but to my surprise, he refused to support insurance coverage for a repair! It seemed to me he was writing me off due to age (64 and in excellent health). He then actually said that he would only support it if I has a second stroke!! Fortunately, Blue Cross agreed to cover it without his help. Pretty ironic. If your over 60, go elsewhere.

An appointment was scheduled, but no one was thete. Wonder what the doctor would do if his prescription ran out but he could not get another one because the office was locked up tight during posted office hours. And this wasn't the first tome.
