Dr. Leilany Irizarry-Colon, MD

I have been going to this dr for a few years, today because the parking lot was full I was 6 minutes late maybe 10 minutes ,by the time I reached office, only one other person in the waiting room, she finally appeared she asked how I was doing and. Said I was fine until the put me in this room for over 1.5 hrs she lost it and said, Find another dr and I said good idea, Very unprofessional she needs help

Dr. Irizarry- Colon, is a kind, caring, knowledgeable clinician, who always greet my husband and I with a warm smile and positive energy. After a recent hospitalization, she quickly reached out and helled to coordinate a telemedicine visit as soon as possible. She has always been punctual and communicative in relaying back lab results of imaging studies, either by phone or portal messages, in a very timely fashion. I highly recommend her, and my family has had nothing but a wonderful experiences with her as our doctor.

Rude and unprofessional dr … it’s dangerous recommend this doctor…

If I could give her 0 stars I would. When I asked her very politely why I had to wait 1 hour every year I came for a check up, she accused me of being late, when in fact I arrived 10min before appointment. She then proceed to tell me she didn't need this kind of stress and that I should find a new doctor. I left immediately, never coming back. Lack of professionalism and was rude to me without reason. Don't waste your time, find a new doctor.

I am a 73 yr old woman. I tried to change my Medicare plan and was denied and was told that Dr Irizarry reported that I had a very serious lung condition. To say the least I was upset and emailed her office. Received a reply from someone in the office stating that a CT scan showed that I , in fact I had lung issues. I tried to explain (in writing ) that the diagnosis was incorrect and I needed it taken off my permanent record. She refused and there I was unable to get supplemental insurance. What I got instead was a form letter with her name but unsigned saying that she would no longer be my doctor. Good riddance! Unfortunately, there is another doctor whom i love, in that same practice. I am so disappointed!!!

Made an appointment 3 months in advance. Was informed over the phone that appointment was canceled because she decided to go on vacation. Guess this isn't exactly a review of her as a Doctor, because she couldn't be bothered to see me. In my line of business if I had so little control over my own schedule that I booked clients that far ahead of time and then told them tough luck, I would literally be out of business.

She started a televisit screaming at me and berating me because my last visit was a year ago. Yelling that I was not her patient, that she was not going to help me, and that I needed to go somewhere else. Completely unacceptable! I could barely get a word out as she just continued to berate me. She did not ask me anything, just continued to yell in a very disrespectful manner. I was unable to explain anything in relation to my health. I was not serviced at all and was subjected to her poor behavior and outburst. In no situation is it ever merited for a doctor to feel they can talk to a patient like that, ever! She is beyond unprofessional and her behavior was repulsive. To add injury to insult, she had the audacity to send me a letter in the mail- not with an apology but to once again tell me to go find another doctor and signed it on behalf of every other physician at the Physicians Health Group. She is an ornery and callous doctor. I would not recommend her to my worst enemy.

Dr. Irizarry-Colon is so much more than just an excellent Doctor! She has been my primary care physician for several years now and has always provided the absolute best care and best treatment during every visit, and for every issue. Dr. Irizarry is very knowledgable and cares deeply about her patients. It is rare to find a Doctor who is not only excellent in their profession but so caring in their manner. Dr. Irizarry's entire staff is also very professional. Appointments are on time and everything runs very smoothly and is truly first rate!

My insurance co sent her a letter asking for information related to medication. She (or her staff) never responded, so meds were denied. I had to pay in full. When I emailed her about this, she said “perhaps you should find another doctor.” I did switch drs after that and asked for my records to be forwarded. She didn’t do that either. Her office is broken and it’s extremely frustrating. Her email system barely works because everyone working there is overloaded. Emails can be responded to weeks later or not at all. A nightmare office.

Dr. Leilany is awesome. She truly cares about her patients’ well-being, and spends a very generous amount of time educating and helping her patients. I love her.
