Excellent and compassionate physician.
Empathic, patient, got me on track with a much needed medication, extremely competent, and sensitive to my emotional and physical state.

She was previously was my dr back in 2019 and I switched from her for a reason. I hated that she was the on call Dr for my original dr when I was in a hospital for a serious condition. I called her she had no empathy at all, she basically was trying to tell me things that had nothing to do with what was going on with me. She was jus very rude to the point I had to hang up on her. I don’t see how she meets NorthShore Standards.

Not Impressed
Spoke so quickly. Didn't listen well, and didn't perform a breast exam. Not returning.

I wish I could switch to a different OB if the other OB at Northshore had more availabilities. She's very inattentive. Doesn't respond to messages. Spends about 5 mins at each visit, and anything she's told me could easily be obtained through a Google search. I don't feel cared for at all under this OB. Find someone else!

I had my nexplanon removed and it took about 45 min when it should have taken like 20 min. not to mention apparently telling the patient they shouldnt feel pain while they are crying in pain, means they can longer feel pain. she also kept telling me about how my implant kept jumping back deeper into my arm behind the scar tissue. The first thing she said after was "you wont get an infection" when I had not previously mentioned any fear about that? She also said it was like my arm "went through labor and had a mini baby". which is just an odd thing to say. I think i will need therapy for a years. I cry at the thought of what she did to me while i told she was really hurting a lot me.

Surprised and disappointed in the way I was treated recently when trying to speak with Dr. Backhus regarding my need for a needle biopsy and test results. She never responded to my questions submitted through northshoreconnect. My calls to the office resulted in return calls from the nurses. It's very sad that she couldn't find 5 minutes over the past 2 weeks to respond to my concerns. I no longer have confidence that she cares about my health, and I am switching to a new doctor.
