Dr. Lee Stokes, DO

Dr. Stokes lost my airway during an elective surgery. He did not document truthfully what transpired during my induction. I asked for all anesthesia records and what was provided to me did not explain what happened. I had to request another doctor put difficult airway in my chart for safety purposes if I were to ever have another surgery. He never spoke to me or my family about the event. When I called asking to speak with him I was told I needed to speak to my surgeon and he would not take my call. Losing an airway is one thing, as devastating as it is, what is inexcusable is the fact that they omitted information in my chart and did not disclose to me the information. I think that anyone in my situation would feel that they didn’t respect you enough as a human life to tell you so you could relay that information to another anesthesiologist if I were to need a future surgery. My life means that little to them? I hope not but I can’t imagine anything else from the lack of disclosure.
