Dr. Leann Blankenship, MD

Dr. Blankenship is my oncologist. I am recovering from colon cancer. She is direct which I appreciate. Her information and explanations were always complete and understandable. She took time with me and I never felt rushed. It's evident she cares deeply about her patients. She is kind, which I needed. She was/is there for me, which I also needed and wanted. She is an attribute to he profession, and I've been fortunate to be in her care.

My wife was diagnosed with a "rare form of cancer" for her age. We were assigned Dr. Blankenship to guide chemotherapy. The amount of chemotherapy drugs she prescribed turned out to be too much for my wife and she passed away one month after a successful surgery, being diagnosed "cancer free". She died from heart failure after being transported to Henry Ford (Beaumont had reached the limits of their abilities, but not before destroying her heart beyond repair). During the treatment there were many signs that things were not going well, and despite being reassured that Dr. Blankenship and her team would keep a very close eye on my wife, and despite us both bringing issues concerning her poor reaction to the drugs, minimal attention was given. We saw students more than we saw Dr. Blankenship, for instance. I still remember when she came in to tell us that the heart failure was her biggest health concern. Could you be next?
