Bizarre
As I was explaining my symptoms he asked me if I’m on painkillers and kept flashing the light in my eyes. Maybe to see if my pupils would respond? I told him I’d taken ibuprofen the previous day but I think he thought I was on or wanted narcotics. After establishing my complaint was not even about headaches but dizziness he decided to attribute my symptoms to anxiety and recommended no follow up. If his first thought when he sees a patient is to assume they are after drugs or they are crazy, then I don’t know how he can provide adequate care to anybody. I think I’d have to be paralyzed for him to think that there was something physically wrong. Anyway, my symptoms turned out to be autoimmune. I don’t think he has any understanding of auto immune disease which apparently can manifest neurologically

Kind, knowledgable gentleman.
My mother and I saw Dr. Beck regarding an update on her dementia. Dr. Beck took the time to thoroughly explain the history, process and treatment. He was able to meet with us simultaneously and yet was careful to address both of our concerns and meet our needs. Well done! His administrative assistant Grace also was very responsive and helpful. Will return.

Horribly rude, slow to respond, seemingly miserable humans work here. If you take your healthcare seriously avoid this practice at all costs. Josylin, Beck's assistant, puts more energy into being difficult than being helpful. With the time and energy she takes to be unhelpful one could easily resolve questions and needs. Then again, this is Dr Beck's practice and we have experienced nothing but slow, unhelpful, staff . If there was a choice for 0 stars I would have selected that.

I had been having various physical complaints of neck and back pain, as well as numbing/tingling in my extremities.  After “passing” his battery of tests, he concluded my sx’s were psychosomatic and chalked them up to anxiety and situational stressors. I directly inquired if symptoms could be related to a pinched nerve or back issue, and Dr. Beck quickly dismissed that as well. Upon my insistence to find the root cause of my symptoms he offered to refer me for an MRI, although he stated, “if you were my brother I wouldn’t recommend the MRI”. Maybe being Board Certified in Psychiatry, Dr. Beck focused more on my awareness of sx’s rather than the sx’s themselves.  Secondly, nobody from the office ever followed up to schedule the MRI I had still wanted. For these reasons, unfortunately I cannot recommend Dr. Beck no matter how pleasant and kind he was. I did later pursue an MRI referral on my own, which did conclude degenerative disk disease and multiple pinched nerves in my neck and back

Five years ago I saw Dr. Beck because I had an acute attack of peripheral neuropathy. The attack was truly horrifying as I was unable to feel my hands and feet and was experiencing pain as well. The office exam revealed nothing out of the ordinary. Dr. Beck told me I had anxiety.... His words, "you'll probably feel better after you leave my office today". Well, I didn't feel better. I found another neurologist and, after five years of brain scans, I have a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. My advice to anyone reading this, find another doctor. Dr. Beck did NOT give my issues the attention that was deserved.

I definitely would not recommend Dr. Beck to anyone. Dr. Beck is not a good physician. He does not truely listen to his patients and because he didn’t take my complaints seriously I ended up with a craniotomy that could have been prevented if I had received the proper medical care.
