The doctor I was seeing retired 15 years ago and I needed a doctor that I felt comfortable with. I met Dr. Torpey and I followed him to his personal practice out the Camillus, New York to Albion, New York. He always showed that he cares for his patients and will go above and beyond. where he ends up, I will go. if you’re looking for a good family practitioner, Dr. Torpey is the one you wanna call..

He didn't remember me, made a horrible referral
I thought Dr. Torpey was a nice enough guy the first time I saw him. We chatted, he seemed interested and invested in my health. However, the second appointment, he said, 'Have we met?' and didn't seem to know me from Adam. Ummm, how about looking at my chart before I come in? He then referred me twice to a specialist, who said after the frst visit that I didn't need to come back and acted annoyed I was there a second time. He tried to refer me a third time and I balked and he told me that other patients didn't like this other doctor either but 'he's a specialist so he knows what he's doing.' I'm finding a new doctor as soon as I'm done writing this.

I saw Dr. Torpey in March 2021 for Fever & Chills. No labs were ordered. But he ordered a CT of lung/abdomen/pelvis. Came back with Nodules in my lungs, kidneys, was scheduled for a Lung Biopsy. Dr. Torpey told me they wanted to cut my kidney in half & surgically remove it. Lung biopsy was deferred due to I had, had Pneumonia. It's now almost August, can I enjoy what's left of the summer?! In my whole life I have never had a Medical Doctor tell me personal information such as his recent divorce, where he vacationed in the Adirondacks over 4th of July. Still No Antibiotics! Labs ordered 7/13/2021 indicate high WBC. This is Unbelievable! He has also shared with me he had a Cold. Did he want me to diagnose him? My PCP has finally returned from Maternity leave and LOSE Dr. Torpey like a BAD Habit. Was seen at Upstate Medical T-5 in Camillus.

If he is like his staff- I phoned about getting my son into see him, they are accepting patients if family is already a patient. Secretary said she have to check on insurance-hello my other son is a patient -same insurance. Never heard back, phoned and emailed no response. My son who is a patient has been calling for over a month as they are holding up PT due to work related . injury. The staff is a reflection of the doctor - look elsewhere!!

My mom recommended me to Dr. Torpey and he reminds me of how doctors used to be. He takes the time to get to know his patients and he listens to what you are there for. I have gone with her on a few appointments and decided to make him my PCP. He is an extremely intelligent doctor who knows how to break things down into everyday terms.

Mr. Nagging Cough in Rochester, NY – Nov 10, 2016
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Torpey?
Only able to treat extremely basic ailments, and even didn't treat an alergic reaction to medication well. Poor communication with specialist he referred. Initially Office staff denied administering immunization to my child, later same day "found empty vial". Almost lost immunization records for my child. Very negligent about records and gathering records of other physicians. Abruptly left room during several visits without explanation.
