Dr. Lauren Wood, MD

The staff were patient and kind to me when I had to reschedule due to work. My 9:00 appointment started early. The nurses are cheerful and friendly. Dr. Wood herself is fast like a comet. She had answers and-or solutions to every point on my wife's list of what's wrong with me. My beloved wife is very pleased with my experience.

I appreciate that when I ask her a direct question, I get a direct answer. And, I have found her decisions to be sound. When asked she even sent me to the appropriate technical literature so I could bring myself up to speed.

Let me tell you, I saw Dr. Wood for the first time with stroke level High Blood Pressure. I am 58 and have seen a lot of Doctors in my time, and she treated me with concern, and compassion. Made time in her busy schedule to see me the following week to check my progress! I feel so lucky to have her as my Doctor.

My last visit with Dr. Wood was very unsettling, and I think she has given other doctors bad comments about me. She has a condescending attitude, and I deeply resent that. I come from an area where patients and their needs are highly respected, however, I have not found that attitude to be prevalent among some/most Savannah, GA, doctors. I know my body and medical needs more than anyone; I have been living in it for 76 years. I have talked to several other patients of Dr. Wood who have negative comments about her, but are timid to post them on the internet. It can be easy to get 'good reviews'---just get a couple of your closest friends to post positive comments, and suddenly you can 'look like a rock star.' Think about it.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Wood, today. She is everything I was looking for in a female doctor. Thorough, inquisitive, empathetic and understanding. She has a great personality and I felt completely comfortable with her right away.
