Dr. Shikowitz-Behr is an excellent surgeon from the first appointment all the way ro surgery date and after she is very attentive and caring about my health. The day of my surgery after I was in my room after recovery Dr Shikowitz came to see me and check on me when she could have easily went home. I am so grateful that I choose Dr Shikowitz-Behr to perform my surgery. As for her PA Kelly she was also amazing and very caring. The staff at Syosset and Glen Cove are excellent also.

From the first encounter with her I felt she treated me as if i were her only patient. I've had a couple of more visits and still feel the same. I am very pleased with her work and definitely recommend her.

She never followed through to correct my scar
The doctor performed a closure an my forehead after a Mohs procedure. She left me with a vertical scar, which does not allow that portion of my forehead to move. Additionally, she offered to help improve the appearance of the scar because the closure became infected with staph and gapped open. Now I have a horrible scar, and a forehead with no movement. Two other plastic surgeons said it should have been a horizontal closure to blend in with the expressions/lines of the forehead. I would never recommend her to anyone. I’ve never seen someone with a scar from Mohs like mine.

My husband and I were so impressed with the care Dr Shikowitz-Behr gave. She really listened, gave a thorough physical exam, review my history, results of tests and I was so happy that she actually looked at the scans and not just the results. We are so happy that we found her. Your staff was so pleasant and helpful. I want to Thank you for giving me hope. I know there is no guarantee that this will solve all the issues but I am hopeful that it will help that ones that interfer with living my life. Thank you, Dianne and Ira Rosenblum

Dr Shikowitz is professional, thorough and instructive. She goes out of way to see you immediately if you have a problem. She is willing to explain and acknowledge when she is conflicted. Encourages second opinions. Dr. Shikowitz is exceptional.

Dr. Shikowitz-Behr took great care of me in the Long Beach ER. She stitched up my knee after a bad fall. She was extremely competent, reassuring, and pain free!
