Dr. Lauren Kofod, MD

Dr. Kofod did a very thorough intake appointment that made me feel like she cared about understanding my entire situation, but just my medications. She listens to me when I report side effects or want to know more about what I'm taking and why. I trust Dr. Kofod to listen to my issues and suggest the best way forward, even when the best way forward is to change nothing (which can be really frustrating, especially in psychiatry!).

I advise everyone to stay away from Dr. Kofod. She does not appear to take notes on her patients and seems to scan her patients' files for a few seconds immediately before meeting with them. She does not remember pertinent information in our meetings. She prescribed me three antidepressants, the third of which made me extremely suicidal. She is not compassionate and makes it clear that she wants you out of her office quickly and wants your money in her hands even quicker. Do not see Dr. Kofod.

Very dangerous doctor. Unhelpful at best. Leads in opposite direction. Very easy to look at her website and see there is little to no effort on her end.

I would never recommend her to another person. I would explicitly recommend they avoid her at all costs. I was never able to meet with her for more than ten minutes, and despite voicing my concerns about the severe side effects I was experiencing from the medication she prescribed me, she would not take me off of it-- in fact , she doubled it. She is inattentive, patronizing, and quite frankly, dangerous. Do not consult her.
