ER visit
Dr Laura Towater is is a true professional in her field. She was extremely thorough in her exam, not only determining the cause of my extreme abdominal pain, but also discovering a hernia that had previously been misdiagnosed. She takes an extraordinary amount of time as an ER doctor to thoroughly explain the procedures and results. She is a highly personable and totally included my wife in the processes. Highly impressed and recommended!

Towater is an ER Dr. She was out of network at our in network hospital. She tried but was unable to determine why my son was in so much pain he required a morphine drip. But that’s fine. Doctors can be mystified. They can’t know everything. My problem was the billing. A third party came in to negotiate and contracted an end price for us. But her company continues to bill us for the amount that was ‘discounted’ out of the original bill. And refuses to recognize the negotiation which is considered a breach of contract between them and the 3rd party company.

Just a word of advice for future patients of Dr. Laura Towater. I went to Piedmont Henry emergency. At that time I had met my deductible for the whole year, so I was not expecting a huge bill. Imagine my surprise when a few weeks later I got a bill for over $800 and my insurance paid less than $200. I had to paid over $650 out of pocket!!! Why? Because, Dr. Towater was out-of-network. So when you are in the emergency room, make sure you ask if the Drs. on duty are in-network.
