My husband had a knee replaced and for his initial physical therapy he is staying at Limestone Medical Center as an inpatient. This provides him a jump start on his PT. He has PT twice a day Monday through Friday. Dr. Hughes is the doctor overseeing his care while there at the hospital. The knee surgeon has provided written orders regarding the type and amount of pain medication my husband is to receive to 1) help facilitate his recovery, 2) ensure his pain level remains fairly well maintained. To do this, the surgeon has ordered 10 to 20 mg of Oxycodone every 4 hours. Dr. Hughes will not follow these orders resulting in my husband suffering in pain. When confronted about this he blames the nurses for giving him the wrong dosage. When the nurses are asked they blame the doctor. This doctor refuses to provide the care necessary to help my husband get well faster.
