Dr. Lariven Franada, DO

I am helping manage my elderly parents' medical appts. and have repeatedly asked, via staff, for dr. to weigh in on a recommended procedure for one of them, knowing there are additional health issues. I was told multiple times to have specialist send notes, weren't sure they had them, talk to the specialist to see what they recommend, etc. I explained multiple times to nurse what, specifically, I was asking for assistance with. My last interaction she insisted that she had already taken care of and responded back to everything I asked about and when I tried repeatedly to explain what was still unanswered she cut me off, talked over me and insisted we had discussed things that we hadn't. I finally gave up in frustration and said I would wait for my parents' appt. with the dr. to speak with him directly. We will be looking for a new provider.

He listened, and he referred me to where I needed to go. Seems super friendly. Easy to talk to.

I saw Dr Franada 4 years ago after I began experiencing many debilitating symptoms. I felt like I had something wrong with my hormones, and wanted a referral to an endocrinologist. He refused, said it was all in my head, and instead gave me a referral to a psychiatrist. 4 years later and I’ve finally been diagnosed with hashimotos, and my new doctor suspects I’ve had it for awhile. 4 years ago Dr Franada was emphatic that nothing was wrong with my thyroid, despite my suspicions otherwise, but only ran a basic panel on me instead of a full one. I know it’s common for things to be missed, but the gaslighting I received from him was very painful. Especially because my suspicions were correct.
