Was lucky enough to get an appt quickly due to a cancellation she had in her schedule. I was quite nervous to see an urologist due to previous experiences. She was kind, considerate if my uneasiness and very informative. I absolutely think she is wonderful! Highly recommend her

I found Dr Maclachlan to be friendly, thorough and easy to talk to. She explained everything in detail and was very proficient and professional. I have a hard time understanding the negative reviews I have read. From my experience in June 2023 I would recommend her to anyone seeking a Urologist.

Finally I have answers
I saw Dr Maclachlan after struggling with pain and a uti issue for 3 months. She was patient, kind and quickly discovered the problem. I was given a diagnosis and a plan to move forward. I left her office relieved and happy. She was also gentle and explained every step of the exam. I highly recommend this doctor!

Dr MacLachlan is the best! I came to her after having a terrible experience with different urologist. She is so kind, for the first time someone listened to my symptoms after months of urinary pain. She truly gave me my life back. I would recommend her to anybody!

I love Dr MacLachlan. I have been suffering from chronic UTI's for over 40 years. I had a male urologist who was not up to date with latest meds or treatments. I changed to Lahey after a walk in clinic physician told me about D-Mannose and not my male urologist, who had no idea what I was talking about. Dr MacLachlan was knowledgeable of the new treatments including D-Mannose. Before Dr MacLachlan, I was getting UTI's roughly once or twice a month. Her treatments have helped me immensely, and it's been over a year since my last infection. Also I had several cystoscopys done without pain meds with my original urologist, which were extremely painful, but Dr MacLachlan used pain med before doing my last one and it was painless. I'm shocked at the low ratings from some other reviewers. She has been a blessing to me.

I started seeing Dr MacLachlan when I was in college because I was having uti after uti and no one knew what was wrong. Lara immediately listened to my concerns and my goals and helped me reach them. She was able to diagnose and help treat me for Interstitial Cystitis and without her I would still be so miserable by this awful condition. I wanted to be pain free for by the time I started working as a nurse. 7 years later and I am so thankful for her taking my symptoms seriously and understanding that my quality of life was effected immensely by IC. I couldn’t have gotten through it without her. I see these bad reviews and I just can’t imagine because she was the definition of an amazing doctor to me.

Fairly appalling experience, front to back. While she undoubtedly knows her stuff, the overarching and clear goal is for you as a patient to know that. It is not your health, treatment, or progress which is in any way a priority, it is her ensuring you know she is the one who controls it. I am not certain I have ever been treated with such a malicious edge by any physician; this doctor at various times yelled, blamed, and also believed it was her right to cancel my appointment with another doctor in the department without asking me. I could scarcely get a word in edgewise nor ask any reasonable questions without being treated like I was somehow to blame for seeking medical care.

I would prefer not to leave a review, but I have never encountered a dr. like this, and would agree with all the bad reviews, as I was astonished how I was treated on my first visit. As an elderly person (89) , I feel bad for others who were not expecting this. I think the dr. needs to have a course in patient relations. The nurses and staff are wonderful!!

If I could leave a negative number of stars it would be -1,000. It has taken over a year to write this review that’s how upsetting this doctor was to us. My husband had a medical issue and he was sent to Dr MacLachan, she was sooo rude and made us feel like we were asking stupid questions. She would yell answers at us and had absolutely no compassion for the diagnosis she was giving us. She didn’t listen and constantly had a look of irritation on her face. She should definitely find another line of work. She may know her medical stuff but she could sure use a class in compassion and people skills.

Horrible. I felt like a piece of equipment that she was examining, not a patient who had come to her because of a medical problem. She did not listen when I tried to explain what was going on with me medically. She had her set spiel and just went with that. It didn’t seem to matter to her that I may not be the same as everyone else or that she should take the time to tell me what she was doing and why doing it. My first appointment with her is also my last. Is the rest of Lahey’s urology department like her?

Was taken back by her yelling rudeness and directives of telling her patient to “ stop talking”. Impatient, hostile, will gun jump you while you share info to help her in her diagnosis. Discouraged that she aggressively critiques other Lahey drs and physical therapists and lost count of the eye rolls. Very poor written communication skills online following appt as I wrote it off she may be having bad day. Nope. It’s awful. Shared with my other Lahey drs who said some people’s reputation precedes them. It’s too bad, she’s seems very knowledgeable but not ok treat others like that including staff.

After an initial consult with the nurse practitioner, I was referred to Dr. McLachlan. I couldn’t have been more pleased. She treated me with the utmost respect, listened to my concerns, offered expert advise on the best course of action and devised a plan of action. I left feeling reassured and confident in a positive outcome to my health problems.

Dr MacLachlan was verbally abusive. She answered nearly every question I asked/comment I made w "You're interrupting me." She was hostile & impatient. My answers to her questions were met w contempt as if I were stupid to forget details from my 1st appt years ago. She lectured me on the huge #s of bacteria in the body when I asked about the KP bacteria causing my frequent UTIs. She insulted my lack of pelvic floor strength. I cried & was angry when I left. She was hurtful rather than helpful.

I was there for IC and she was yelling at me saying this is a chronic condition that will NEVER go away and that I should use AZO. AZO is a temporary fix for UTI until you get to a DR for proper treatment. When I disagreed with her she continued to yell at me like I was ignorant when I actually knew more about the disease than she did and that bothered her. To the DRS out there with this kind of behavior towards your sick patients loose the God complex.

The contempt that Dr. MacLachlan showed me is unforgettable. In researching my condition, I went to her office with symptoms of another concerning me. But she reacted as if I was pushing her to my own diagnosis. I remained patient, Dr. MacLachlan told me she was salaried, and how I could go see a provider paid well by reckless procedures. I told her another alpha-blocker sent me to an ER with a priaprism, that failed to treat me. Uncaring, she prescribed it anyways. Do I take them?
