Dr. Kurt Heintzelman, MD

Dr. H. Saved my life. He seen the hope in me when nobody else did. He genuinely cares and only wants the best for you. If you don't like him it's because you had a hidden agenda with him.

Dr. H is very helpful and thorough. He takes his time with you and makes sure you understand the meds and how they work. I love having Dr H as my doctor. I strongly recommend him.

I am 45 years old and have struggled with mental health my whole life. I have seen many doctors in my lifetime but could never get stabilized. I have been seeing Dr. Heinzelman for 5 years and it didn't take him very long at all to get me on the right combination of medicine to stabilize my disorders. He always listens, gives his input but also lets you give your input. I feel very comfortable with him and very confident in trusting him. He also got me into a great therapist that I see weekly, and his nurse, Amy, is just as helpful. She is amazing! She is always so sweet and always smiling. She never hesitates to help you or just to listen. I'm sorry this is so long but I just can't say enough great things about Dr. H and his staff. Please, if you are struggling, reach out. I'm sure they would be more than happy to help you. I would highly recommend him to anyone, no matter what your mental health disorders are. God Bless you!

Dr. Kurt is really amazing and he does care about his patients. He basically changed my life! Amy, his nurse is also wonderful. I have nothing but great respect for Dr. K and his team.

I am new to Dr. Heintzelman. This doctor is exceptional and has great knowledge of the mental health industry. I was recently released from hospital. Dr. H got me on a program and my meds are well balanced and my mood is good

I highly recommend this Dr. He safely took my daughter off meds that had her a zombie and prescribed new meds that has kept my daughter out of the hospital. 5 ?

My Son, Shawn Cook went to him for counseling. As already has been said, he is arrogant and condescending, judgemental, and a med. Pusher, using the Patient as a Guinea pig. He did not monitor Shawn's meds, or his state of mind, because he knows all. Missed desperation signs, and severe depression! Just wanted him to take the pills x4 scripts! That were not helping. As a result of his negligence and neglect my Son Shawn took his own life 10/28/16. He had NO HOPE he was so far down the ladder. I believe people like him that practice poly pharmacy should be held accountable. He never even sent his condolences. People who have never been on psychiatric meds, or those who have sometimes have dramatic personality changes. I am his Mom and love and miss him so much, along with his Son, Landon and his widow Ann. I pray he doesn't cause heartache for anyone else!

Absolutely horrible doctor. Offers nothing productive. Insists you continue medications that are not useful. Berates you for not trying harder according to his view on how your life should be. A view he just decides within the first 5 minutes from meeting you, by the way, not from any actual conversation about your life. His peers even agree he is bad at what he does & his clients don't have much positive to say either. He is full of himself. Thinks he knows instead of taking the time to ask.

I really like dr heinzelman. When i first came to him i had severe ocd as well as other disorders and he has worked with me and improved my symptoms. I would recommend him to a friend.

I felt like more of his personal experiment than an actual person. He is incredibly arrogant and, in the end, I couldn't even force myself to like him. He looked at the computer more than me and didn't trust my complaints about his head nurse Brianne who is an incompetent liar. Rather than review the proof he just laughed it off. I would not recommend trusting either one of them. End result was him hurting more than him helping. New Horizons isn't a bad place just avoid these two.
