Disappointed
Was good for almost 20 years. She referred me to a cornea special for a consult and office staff says since I was referred out I had to be referred back in. SAY WHAT!!! Desk staff extremely RUDE! I doubt Dr Carter even knows about this as she never mentioned anything about dropping me as a patient.

First impressions speak volumes
Neighbor had recommended Dr. Carter. Called to book initial appointment. I introduced myself as new to area. I described my problem to receptionist. Response: “We don’t do eye examinations”. I rephrased the problem, and the lady could not get rid of me quickly enough. Demanded referrals and history details from prior docs. From my perspective, if a medical office cannot handle an introductory call pleasantly or at least, civilly, it need to go no further.

Highly recommend
This was my second cataract surgery with this doctor for my other eye and the results on both eyes were great. She is very respectful, personable, and highly professional. I recommend this doctor very highly.

This doctor and her staff are excellent. They are warm, welcoming, knowledgable, and do their work in a quiet, efficient manner. On a scale of 1 to 10, Dr. Carter is a 50 with no exceptions. She explains all procedures clearly, both before and after, and is never rushed or impatient. A rarity in today's world. They don't come any better.

I have been going to optometrists since I moved to Tucson seven years ago. I knew I needed to find an ophthalmologist and chose Dr. Carter on the internet. What a great experience. The office is run professionally and efficiently by a very personable staff. There are little things for you to enjoy so that you are not bored out of your mind while waiting for your eyes to dilate. It's a 40-minute drive for me but well worth it.

The staff has been difficult to work with during an urgent eye issue. Over a 6 week long wait to even see Dr. Carter for an urgent eye problem, finally got an appt. and then it was pushed back another 10 days! Office staff has no empathy for patients, and zero ability to work with elderly patient care givers. If the staff is this difficult to work with and uncaring towards patients I am worried to see the care Dr. Carter gives to her elderly patients that need urgent care.
