Not Impressed
I got the impression that Dr. Jessen is very smart, very efficient and is very scientific in her approach to her client's health issues. There is no positive bedside manner or any compassion for whom she's dealing with. Feeling a 'connection' with her isn't there.I felt she was very rushed during our appointment and she would ask me questions and before I could get the answers out, she would be asking me another question. I found it to be extremely stressful. By the time I left her office I felt totally drained of energy. She ordered some tests to be done and the results came into my patient portal and I don't understand what they mean. There has been no communication from her or her office explaining what my results are and it's almost 4 months later. I waited 7 months to get in to see her the first time so I'm wondering if she expects her patients to wait that long again to be told what their test results mean? I can't comprehend that!I will not recommend her to anyone.

I wish i had read these reviews before going to dr jessen. I was warned by her nurse that her reputation precedes her and the appointment might be overwhelming, i should have left then. She was only focused on headaches and prescribing a certain medicine for the headaches which is not the reason i went to her. She presents as rude and callous, intimidating and doesnt answer questions and speaks down to you. She made me feel like my condition was a non issue compared to the headaches she wanted to treat which were not the issue. Along with attacking most aspects of my life and telling me how im wrong in the way i care for my baby, children, even my pet dog. There were many times i fought back tears durring this appointment, but stayed hoping eventually she’d get to the part where she would actually help me. That part didnt come. So if you have any choice in seeking alternate sources for neurology care please do. I would nearly call her behaviour abusive.

Jennifer was very discourteous from the moment I walked in. Later with billing questions-like -why can't I get a receipt for payment, as the charge was much higher than the estimate, she hung up on me and told the others I cussed her. That was a lie. Angela was very unhelpful and said " I didn't say that" quite as few times. The Doctor seemed suspicious of most of what I said and ordered useless tests. This was my 1st time to a neurologist after about 20 years of migraines and seizures. I was very glad to get diagnosed but they should know full well that patients need understanding and kindness. It would have been much more helpful for the doc to print out info for you instead of blaming your for not remembering or taking notes. Got charged for EEG results but did not even discuss it and when reminded of this she assured me that we did talk about the results. So of course I asked about the prognosis. "Normal". $$ Ka ching $$. Pretty rough on self payers. I go to Anchorage now.

This was the nastiest visit I have ever had. I agree with the above reviews that describe her as demeaning; her manner was inconsiderate, impatient, callous, intimidating. She refused to go over my past medical history, telling me that all of it was baseless and that to obtain a diagnosis I needed to start from scratch! She barely gave our questions time of day. I came to her suffering from acute ataxia and as part of the test she requested for me to stand up unassisted (which I hadn't been able to do for weeks!) After insisting for some time that I was able to stand and I still unable to rise to my feet, she dismissed the whole "test" with great impatience and a very rude "whatever". She showed no interest, no compassion, gave a very brief exam, was openly irritated by my disability and repeatedly criticized the way I was describing my problems. At the end of the visit, she basically told me 'it was all in my head'. Very frustrating and hurtful. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HER TO ANYONE!

I was having severe cramping in leg above and below knee area. My G.P. sent me to see Dr Jessen who ordered up a battery of tests and suggested some OTC supplements for the mean time (which worked great btw). The tests came back supporting what she had originally thought was going on and I ended up with surgery scheduled. I found Dr. Jessen to be to the point and no nonsense. I didn't go there to make friends, just get some relief from my pain. Her correct diagnosis saved me being crippled.

Without a doubt the rudest "doctor" I've ever had the displeasure of meeting. Disregarded me, my questions and concerns. This "doctor" literally told me she didn't care while I described my symptoms to her. Save yourself the misery and just go to Anchorage.

A close friend of mine--a medical professional, DPT degree, highly respected and in need of a neurologist had an appt to see Dr. Jessen as a new patient, and was 2 min late. Two minutes you guys! TWO. The new patient paperwork was completed and yet she was refused to be seen that 30 by the front desk staff, being told Dr. Jessen keeps a tight schedule and she'd need to reschedule her appointment. The choice was made NOT to reschedule. Good call! Need a new neurologist in Soldotna.
