Dr. Vanderveen is excellent. She, and her staff, did all they could to help my needs were taken care of. She is forthright with information, making sure not only my medical needs were cared for, but also my mental needs. She gave me all the info I needed to be able to process the entire process, but was comfortable with the info. She went out of her way to ensure if I needed further treatment at a later time, that there are markers left to help. I highly recommend Dr Vanderveen and her staff.

Front Office Staff are unfriendly and not welcomin
Haven't even visited with the doctor. In calling for an appointment, the front staff was unwelcoming and telling me I needed to "make my referring doctor do." Staff should facilitate the visit not obstruct and put off the patient. I'll look for another doctor...sadly Dr. Vanderveen may be a wonderful doctor but because of her staff, we'll never know.

Excellent care by all staff and doctor
The care from Dr. Vanderveen and her staff was excellent and showed true care and concern for me. She was very through and followed-up appropriately. She and her staff listened very carefully and gave information in a very understandable way. After surgery, I had appropriate follow-up by the hospital and was able to call her office with a question. mm

Overall, a very poor medical experience from the initial phone call to the first appt. in which I never met her, to a pre-op that she sent me away from to get critical imaging done with no insurance pre-auth., to 3 surgery cancelations due to their office filing the insurance authorization too close to the surgical date. I now have to have this surgery in a new calendar year starting over with a new deductible - costing me thousands. I wanted to love this surgeon and her practice as she was recommended by my doctor friends with good reviews. After months of her staff not following up, not returning calls, and ultimately, not filing insurance authorizations, I am left without the surgery that was medically necessary. I understand that underperforming staff can cause issues, however, every touch point with this practice left a lot to be desired. I am left struggling to find a different surgeon without this practice taking any accountability for its missteps other than to offer an apology

DOES NOT CARE ABOUT PATIENTS, ONLY PAYCHECKS. Did not care to work with insurance resulting in many cancelled surgeries. Her office is the one that failed to file after saying they had done so months ago.

I think Dr. Vanderveen is a qualified surgeon but her office staff leaves a lot to be desired. If you call with questions you either don’t get a callback to a message or you’re told they have to ask the doctor and then never call you back. Had surgery and a week later had recovery questions. It’s been 5 business days with no answers. Not my idea of a good practice.

Dr Vanderveen removed half of my thyroid and unfortunately cut my vocal cord in the process. She minimized the risk and aftermath of vocal chord surgery which was quite intense. I’d suggest always a second opinion before surgery. She did however see up the scar beautifully

I had a thyroidectomy back in 2013 done by Dr. Vanderveen. I am in the field of healthcare and can honestly say that I felt completely comfortable in her competent hands. She was attentive before AND after the surgery and followed through with compassion, intelligence, and competence. I feel lucky that I somehow ended up in her care and am doing very well 7 years later. I cannot say enough good things about this surgeon.

Dr. Vanderveen is a renowned surgeon, so much so that people come from other states for her treatment. I came up from CO Springs for surgery because of her reputation. She's trained at the Mayo clinic, arguably the best hospital in the US. As a former hospital CEO, I know that the operative word in healthcare is CARE, which is an obvious attribute of hers. I also know that caring is a team effort. Importantly, she's imbued her staff with the concept of caring, and they are fully engaged with her philosophy. Their followup is exemplary. Dr. Vanderveen and staff are an example of what healthcare ought to be nowadays, but isn't. No comment on HCA Rose.

She does her job and seems to be compentent. I guess in this world you can't be expected to get along with everyone 100% of the time. I never want to see her again. After surgery she come in my room and "unloaded" on me about how tough the surgery was. She alerted the hospital staff of all the complications I was going to have - none of it true! I was sick of her redundant testing and even at my post op appointment I had to sign a form of the medications that were typed out that I had told her before surgery about. She stresses me out and she makes you go through hoops to receive care. The only bright spot is Paul who works there. He is the person any business would like working for them. He is competent, intelligent, efficient, and doesn't require alot of explanation.

I had a parathyroidectomy. Multiple patients and doctors recommended her as well as saying how good she is. I found her a good listener. Her answers were spot on and clear. She talked to me, not at me. Her staff is equally good and extremely helpful. My experience during the surgery was no different. I had no complications and my recovery went smoothly.

Dr. Vanderveen is truly an amazing person/doctor, she makes you feel comfortable from the start. She tells you exactly what's going on and explains the right treatment plan for you. Open to any questions/concerns you may have. Her staff is also very organized and friendly too. I trust her to do my upcoming surgery, and looking forward to feeling better.

As a retired nurse, I am pretty picky about doctors and I was very impressed with Dr. Vanderveen. The exam room has a computer display device on the wall which allowed her to explain exactly what the problem was, where it was and what would be done to fix it. I feel very confident in her skills and am anxious to have the surgery done.

Dr Vanderveen is a great doctor and surgeon. She is great with people, explains things thoroughly and spends a lot of time with patients. She is the best in her field. She has great office staff - Paul and Stacy - and great surgical staff too. Nursing staff at Rose is also very caring and professional. I came to Denver from out of town for treatment of my parathyroid condition. I came specifically to be seen by Dr Vanderveen because she is the best. Glad I did! I would recommend her to anyone.
