Dr. Kimaya Vaidya, MD

Dr. Kimaya Vaidya was referred to us by cardiologist Dr. Pankaj Lal. We’ve been seeing Dr. Vaidya for over a year now. She is very detailed and thorough. I was lucky to get an appointment with her within a few hours for a serious ailment. After seeing me, she called Shady Grove Radiology and got me an appointment immediately within the hour! Results came in after-hours but she personally called me to provide the results, knowing the family will be anxious! I am glad we found a great doctor. Human appearance is naturally different. She is not the type to give a big (natural or artificial) smile. She smiles from the inside by performing an utterly detailed job every time she sees a patient. Any kind of medical questions I have, she usually responds within 24 hours, sometimes immediately. We feel very comfortable with Dr. Vaidya.

THE INTRODUCTION AND FIRST VISIT WENT VERY WELL. I AM IN THE PROCESS OF SCHEDULING THE ENTIRE FAMILY. SHE WILL BE OUR NEW PCP

I found her rushed, rude, condescending and dismissive during more than one visit/ interactions. One example: x-rays for an unrelated matter found nodules on my lungs which I read in the report from the radiologist. As a non-smoker I was concerned, had no knowledge of lung nodules and confused. During my follow-up visit, she didnt even address the radiologist’s findings at all. So I mentioned that I’d read the report, was scared & wanted to know whether follow-up with a different doctor was necessary, was it something I was doing or medication I was taking that was causing this. Her response to me: “well, they are benign. I’m not going to cut your lungs open to find out.” ??Umm, did you tell me they were benign or mention anything at all about them? The report did not say they were definitively“benign;” it gave details as to their sizes, etc. Even if it did, she was the medical professional. ( Clearly she hated her job at Inova. Needless to say I never went back.

Unhelpful and dismissive if you actually have a problem. When did doctors resort to disbelieving patients as a first response? Also gave me the wrong information and had to go to another doctor for correct information.

Great medical office, wonderful and warm experience from start to finish. Appreciate Dr. Vaidya taking time to go answer my questions and keeping an eye on my health. Her replies to any inquiries I have thru the MyChart app have super fast. I strongly recommend her and her office.

First time appointment in my search for a new primary care physician. Found a winner. Dr. Vaidya is obviously very bright. As a new patient I had a lot of history to go over with her. Even though I exceeded my allotted time she did a very thorough review and provided numerous suggestions without appearing to rush. Dr. V was direct, to the point and spot on. Highly recommend.
